  1. What? No, the point is if he wanted to go back he wouldn't have left. And even if he did go back, I don't see why his involvement would do anything. It's not like he was the one central figure in the pre-movie seasons that made us love the show. If he goes back and it's still not up to our (at this point) ridiculously high standards, then are we going to blame him anyway? Or say he shouldn't have gone back? Or say Spongebob should just be canceled? If we want the show back to (again, at this point) our ridiculously high standards, then it's not going to be an over-night quick fix sort of deal. The current writers are fine, the next batch of writers are going to be fine, and Spongebob is going to continue to stay on TV because it's Nickelodeon's biggest (and probably only) money maker.

that credit goes to Derek Drymon

If he came back he would probably not have the same exact role as he did pre-movie. maybe so? who knows..

I get what your saying though

the current batch of writers are fine when you become used to slightly lower quality episodes=

When I saw a tweet by Vincent Waller (or Paul Tibbitt, don't remember which) a while ago  that said:

"we all try to make each episode as funny as possible"

the b.s. alarm goes on in my head.

  2. At this point I would say things are looking pretty promising

the door is wide open for Hillenburg to get more involved in the show again, which of course would be a good thing.

I could easily see Sherm Cohen coming back along with Erik Wiese

Add in a few writers from the Spongebob Comics

+ couple of others (pretty sure Blake Lemons hasn't left)

I think we have a good possibility of ending up with a good writing team..

Hey everyone, here is an introduction to a huge project I have been working on, Flame Dudes.

So what is Flame Dudes exactly?

These dudes live in the flame age, otherwise know as post 3030. Individual flames developed intelligent minds of their own.

There are three main characters (at the current time) Flamey, Flake, and Flay. These three guys are best friends and all attend at the Flame Academy.

Flake, the silliest of the bunch, always seems to have extra energy that comes from thin air. Of course this is helpful at the Flame Academy, so he does not fall asleep in class. Flake also seems to have luck on his side, every day.

Flamey, the more reserved person of the bunch, tries to be an all around good guy. He enjoys his company with friends, and works diligently at the Academy even though his scores don't always reflect. Flamey just wishes he could rewind the hard times he has experienced and start new. He just seems to have a special spark that just tells him to keep looking foward to the future.

    Flay: he has the "smarts"

What I am working on now is the comic book series that is looking great so far. I hope to have issue #1 out to be posted online (on the future website) and on here by March of 2014. Once I get the first issue out, I'm hoping everyone can get a feel for what the characters are like, and mostly just enjoy the comic. Though later this year, I hope to gauge interest and see If any of you would like to help write Flame Dudes. I think Flame Dudes is going to be something really unique and also stories/ideas/thoughts that will be easy to relate to.

Other future possibilities: animated short/show, written story

Plot: Every individual in the Flame Age has its own story to tell, these are the adventures of one special flame, Flamey.

You know, I really do appreciate your post, but based on how I'm feeling, if I see one more person who retrospects the honest to goodness toenail scene when thinking about Spongebob's flaws, I'm probably gonna be saying to myself "Well yeah, because the toenail scene sure is the only thing about Spongebob that people care about anymore, huh?"

These days, I just hope Spongebob doesn't get worse.

Yeah I see what your point is, though I just feel like moments like that would get easily criticized and I mean really easily in a spongebob movie.

I look over that scene and infact I haven't even mentioned it before this post on this site, I was more of trying to say that this movie cannot have any gross-out moments.

Obviously there are a lot of other factors that contribute a lot more to a good spongebob episode

  6. The SB-Movie 2 is just 385 Days Away--Well, that is still a long time in my book. So I just had a few thoughts that I wanted to share with you guys.

This movie cannot have post-movie moments. (Face Freeze, The Splinter, Toe-Nail Scene in House Fancy) This should be an obvious statement. For example, I truly enjoyed the episode House Fancy, though it is hard to think of the episode without also thinking of the terrible toenail seen. Wouldn't it be horrible if the SB Movie 2 was the best movie ever, but all you could think about is the un-needed extras?

Patrick's dumbness should obviously be limited. That should explain itself.

The trailer has got to show the skeptical bunch that it could actually be an enjoyable movie. Honestly I am dying waiting to see even a teaser trailer for the Spongebob Movie 2. One thing is for sure, the trailer for the movie has got to make an impact and create a good first impression among all.

What I am trying to say is, I personally would love to see Spongebob end with a bang. I'd love to see a great movie, and maybe followed by a final season 10? Who knows maybe Stephen Hillenburg, Eric Weise, and Sherm Cohen could make a comeback and help write season 10? Imagine how awesome that would be. I guess we can always dream.

Now I do enjoy a lot of the current writers work, but Sherm Cohen, Eric Weise, and Mr. Lawrence as a writing team? epic.

  7. Glad I saw this on google when I could, copied over what I could find. Article was removed as it was not supposed to be published yet.

merchandise coming soon I guess too

Popular mobile game spawning new crossover versions, and following in Angry Birds' footsteps with range of toys.

The company has worked with SpongeBob's owner Nickelodeon on a standalone version of Doodle Jump

    Headline of the year?

John Daly is playing the Qatar Masters this week with Sergio Garcia and Jason Dufner and apparently he thought Qatar is the place you're supposed to bust out the Sponge Bob Square Pants golf trousers.

Daly did so at a practice round on Tuesday.

The man has done some crazy things, I know, but this might never be topped in terms of on-course attire.

    Your move, Fowler!

Don't watch golf at all but this is pretty awesome.
