Yeah, I'm glad someone revived this thread (with some great reviews if I may add) but it's such a shame this thread and some other sections of the spin-off forums are so dead...

Adventures in the Underground City
"The Secret Heroes"
The third episode of season 6 has this plot...
"When Karate is banned in the city, Spongebob and Sandy both get depressed until they discover a secret gang who fight crime using Karate"
-
R.E.M. (along with the Beatles, obviously) were the two bands I always used to listen to as a kid, that is a fantastic song with some of the best lyrics and incredibly catchy chorus. Great choice

Jeez, that sounds so much like the Police it's unreal (especially this song...)

Adventures in the Underground City
"A Mile in My Shoes"
The second episode of season 6 has this plot...
"The citizens of Bikini Bottom, all bored and fed up with their jobs, decide to switch them. Craziness ensures when Patrick becomes the Mayor, Spongebob runs the Boating School and Mr Krabs and Plankton switch jobs"
-
I always knew this show would be fantastic. Ever since I showed you guys the unaired pilot on YouTube in 2010 (that most of you hated) I just knew this would be one of the best cartoon series of all time
-
While I pretty much disagree with every one of your placings on this list, I must say that you do at least back up your choices with some valid opinions and thoughts. Good job.

Adventures in the Underground City
"Imaginary Fiend"
The first episode of season 6 has this plot...
"Spongebob meets a strange character in the back of the Krusty Krab that only he can see. Is Spongebob going insane or is there more to this mysterious sea dweller?"
-
Well I definitely can't defend either of those songs, great choices. Hopefully they get worse on from here
-
Oh God, I like those two songs also...
I agree that "The Girl is Mine" is a pretty lame song lyrically, but I just love the cheesiness and the silly little banter between the two makes me enjoy it even more :/
"MMMBOP" is a song I wouldn't choose to listen too but if it was to say, play on the radio, yeah, you may see me nodding my head to it. But I do agree that neither are fantastic although none of the four so far would make my bottom fifty...

I ... I like both of those songs *Hides in corner*

Yes, it was very efficient...
The person below me has started listening to Christmas songs

Much like I said in the spin-off thread, I doubt it would ever happen and I'm not sure I would like it too. SpongeBob, unlike Regular Show, has absoultely no continuity (besides a few references of other episodes). It may lead to new dynamics but, like Thomas, this new character may drift into the background quickly and become disinteresting...

I'm pretty sure the Simpsons use both. I prefer to use production codes as if I'm behind on a show, I usually watch it in production order (as it was originally intended)
-
Wow! You sure are in a thread-making mood today
If the show did end, I don't think there would be a spin-off and I'm not sure if I would want to see one to be quite honest. I could imagine a spin-off would only last for a few episodes and I don't know if it would taint the memory of the original series. But then again, if a good enough premise is created and some new writers (along with some on the show now) are involved, it could work...
-
Both are fantastic specials (SpongeBob usually does excel in half hour specials) but I'd say that "Ghoul Fools" was the better special - I'd say it was funnier but "It's A SpongeBob Christmas" is a very creative and sweet episode...
As a side note, tvguy, you gave the Christmas episode a B+, is that really a lukewarm score?
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that almost every show uses production codes rather than the actual airing number.
-
In honor of it winning best spin-off (which I'm incredibly grateful for by the way) here's a little something, something...
Adventures in the Underground City
---
You've read all ninety nine...
Sandy: ... a letter saying that's she's died
...but what about the 100th?
Spongebob: I need to get outta here...
It's finally arrived...
Spongebob: Ooh my head, what happened?
Airs Tonight!
Don't miss the episode you've all been waiting for...

"Spongebob finds the perfect gift to cheer up Sandy but before he can give it to her, he is suddenly lost in the middle of a desert - alone"

I've been searching for this for a while now and the only place I could find it was on this website. For those of you who have the "SpongeBob vs. the Big One" DVD then you've probably already seen this but anyone who hasn't, enjoy! It's pretty darn funny...
