Shoot I’ve been stanning Ariana all year, even her album from this year grew on me after me feeling so-so on it when it first came out. I’m beyond happy for her success and I’m so glad she finally has a number one song. Every single she’s had this year realistically has a shot for my best list.

I’ve tried to get into it but I think it’s the tone of the show that keeps me from getting into it as much as I would like to since I do think the premise is legitimately interesting and the leads are charismatic.

Honestly this is the most fascinated I’ve been with a trailer in quite awhile. Not most excited, not most hyped, not even thinking this looks terrible. Just fascinating.
All of you know how much I love the Pokémon franchise and I will openly admit that I was not convinced this movie was going to be anything but an easy cashgrab because Warner Brothers greenlit this to capitalize off the Pokémon Go phenomenon of 2016.
...this trailer actually defied my expectations. This movie looks absolutely bizarre and really weird is my one sentence thought on this. But I really think this looks strange and odd enough that this could be really good. The CGI is surprisingly okay. I mean yeah not all of the Pokémon converted to CGI completely well (Psyduck looks downright possessed and I think we are all in agreeance that Mr. Mime is nightmare material haha) but it blends in well with the dark neo-noir setting of the location. Let’s be real here, Jigypuff as a mob boss is accurate if you want to talk about the anime version alone. I do agree with a majority of the internet that Danny DeVito’s voice would have been more fitting with Detective Pikachu if you wanted a faithful adaptation of the actual game, but Ryan Reynolds had the comedic timing for the character down well.
I’m actually very intrigued to see more of this universe they are building for this movie. Even if the future trailers are incredibly bad, this trailer has done enough to make me want to see this opening night.

Obviously nothing major happens, but I did get a slight chuckle at watching Forky (a Toy Bonnie made out of a spork by the looks of it) freak out about not belonging here. I wonder how much his existence will have an affect on the overall movie?

Was not a fan of the first one as you all know. I will say good riddance to Louis CK as Max’s voice actor. Patton Oswalt is very underrated so I’m glad for him. Still have no intention on checking this out though.

Jesus has it really been five years since this thread?
I mean yeah I’m not on here as much...and with my wedding coming up in the next year, it will probably be less. But in terms of completely leaving this place? I’ll keep trying to come on when I can, but nobody can ever be sure if they are done for good with online communities. Who knows what will happen.
Unless I completely fuck myself out of y’all’s good graces, which yeah that won’t happen.

Honestly they should just end The Simpsons instead. I’ve made my point loud and clear for years now about how I (as well as many) feel, even on The Problem With Apu controversy. But this move in particular, just awful. If you’re going to get rid of one character because of “cultural insensitivity”, then get rid of Groundskeeper Willie and Bumblebee Man too. Stupid move.

79. Shit
Movie: It (2017)
In the fall, Honest Slug gives his younger brother, Mythix, a paper Poke Ball. Mythix throws the paper ball along Discord Street, and is disappointed when it falls down a storm drain due to the heavy amounts of rain. As he attempts to retrieve it, Mythix sees a clown in the sewer, who introduces himself as Gogitawise the Defending Clown. The clown entices Mythix to come visit SBM because it has all the Pokemon he can endlessly catch, then severs his arm and drags him into the sewer.
The following summer, Slug and his friends—Prez, RDSP, and Wintermelon —run afoul of older bully DS Guy and his gang. Slug, still haunted by Mythix's disappearance and the resulting neglect from his grief-stricken parents, discovers that his brother's body may have washed up in a marshy wasteland called Dapit. He recruits his friends to investigate, believing his brother may still be alive. Their friend Trophy learns that the site has been plagued by unexplained tragedies and child disappearances for centuries. Trophy is targeted by DS Guy and his followers, after which he flees into Dapit and meets Slug's group. They find the sneaker of a missing girl, while a follower of DS Guy and his ideology, Toddphillips, is killed by Gogitawise while searching the sewers for Trophy.
Chaverly also joins the group; both Slug and Trophy develop feelings for her. Later, the group befriends Local after defending him from DS Guy. All the while each member of the group has encountered terrifying phenomena in various forms; these include the same defending clown who attacked Mythix, an anonymous user, a dead chat, a diseased and rotting troll, a creepy chat bot come to life, Pokemanz chat being down, and a phantom Mythix.
Now calling themselves "The Discord Club", they realize they are all being terrorized by the same entity. They determine that "Shit" assumes the appearance of what they fear so they can head to SBM before reverting back to being a Family Guy quote machine. They discover “Shit” moves about by flexing, which all lead to a well currently under the abandoned house on XAT Street. After an attack by Gogitawise, the group ventures to the house to confront him, only to be separated and terrorized. RDSP breaks his arm, while Gogitawise gloats to Slug about Mythix. As they regroup, Chaverly impales Gogitawise through the head, forcing the clown to retreat and make vegan spaghetti. After the encounter, the group begins to splinter, with only Slug and Chaverly resolute in fighting “Shit”.
Weeks later, Chaverly is abducted by Gogitawise. The Discord Club reassembles and travels back to the XAT house to rescue her. DS Guy, who has killed the internet with his bad YouTube videos after being compelled into madness by “Shit”, attacks the group. Local fights back and pushes DS Guy with facts about homosexuality not being a sin to his apparent death. The Discord Club log into SBM and find “Shit's” underground lair, which contains a mountain of decayed jokes, constant drama, and user’s belongings, around which the bodies of missing users float in mid-air, one of them being JCM, in a cameo. Chaverly, now catatonic after being exposed to “Shit's” true form, is restored to consciousness as Trophy kisses her. Slug encounters Mythix, but recognizes that he is Gogitawise in disguise. Gogitawise attacks the group and takes Slug hostage, offering to spare the others if they let “Shit” keep Slug. The Discord Club reject this and reaffirm their friendship, overcoming their various fears. After a brief battle, they defeat Gogitawise and “Shit” retreats, with Slug declaring that “Shit” will starve during its hibernation of activity. Slug finally accepts his brother's death and is comforted by his friends.
As summer ends, Chaverly informs the group of a vision she had while catatonic, where she saw them fighting “Shit” as adults. The Discord Club create a blood oath by cutting each other's hands and forming a circle, swearing to return to SBC in adulthood if “Shit” returns and destroy the creature once and for all. Wintermelon, RDSP, Prez, Local, and Trophy make their goodbyes as the group part ways. Chaverly tells Slug she is leaving the next day to live with her aunt. As she leaves, Slug runs up to her and they kiss.

Cons:
Workload is intense af sometimes (like rn 4 exams in a week send help)
My fellow premeds are so bad at stress management that they honestly stress me out more than the workload does
It can feel lonely here if you dont hsve a great support system; mental health resources suck ass
Cornell administration is cheap af qnd just shcharges us money any chance they ficking ger
People here are more onnthe pessimistic side which gets annoying, especially when its rich people who can afford this education acting super entitled and complaining about EVERYTHING

And yes, I’m doing sort of better now. Still feeling pretty crappy about myself but for an entirely different reason than I was a month ago.

Stupid movie. Very stupid movie. Especially that last act.
I read some article on the internet before watching this where it compared Venom to an early 2000s dumb superhero movies like the Fantastic Four or Daredevil. I can kind of see it. It’s got that exact same mentality.
Tom Hardy at least tries to make this dark grim bore at least entertaining. If there was anything I would recommend about this, is that the actors are actually giving good performances from this mess of a script.
Not one of the worst movies I’ve seen this year, but definitely one of the stupidest.

I still don’t think this episode is all that good. The plot had a lot of potential to do so much with, but the end result just leaves me feeling unsatisfied. Like, that’s it? That’s what you decided to do with it because it felt like just a lot of pointless filler. They go for the most predictable jokes:
-Squidward being a bad artist
-Sandy keep mishearing the word boom
-Patrick filming with the lenses cap on
-SpongeBob going weirdly insane over getting no footage
The only remotely good things to me were the recurring actors joke and Mermaid Man’s long winded speech. Otherwise, very mediocre. Much better analysis than this one:

Hey this is taking place in the mid nineties before the original trilogy! What a difference seven years makes, right?
Seriously though, I hate to sound like everyone else on the internet but I still can’t believe they are doing this story so soon. The Last Stand was just over twelve years ago. There are so many other stories they could have done. Simon Kinberg already proved to us that he couldn’t handle one of the biggest bad guys in ALL of the Marvel Comic Universe with Apocalypse. Shoot he was one of the writers of The Last Stand. Why should we trust him to direct The Last Stand Take 2?
This trailer did absolutely nothing for me.

Because all 80s and 90s properties need dark, edgy reboots now, we have the lighthearted 90s sitcom about a teenage witch with Satanic symbolism, hellish figures, and witchcraft rituals.
This looks god awful. And not just because it’s unnecessary. No it’s because it looks like grim lifeless garbage and I’m really not a fan of this trend that’s going on.

Dont know how many of you have seen this show before, but I’m two episodes in and it’s fantastic. Created by Mike Flannigan, the guy behind Gerald’s Game, Ouija 2, and Oculus. He’s done it again. Can’t wait to keep watching because everyone tells me it gets even more emotionally investing than it already is.
