  1. Don’t know how many of you’ve seen the trailers for this, but it’s coming out in a few weeks.  It’s stirred up quite a bit of controversy due to the producers of Sesame Street suing.

Me personally?  I at least admire the concept.  With the onslaught of sequels as of late, it’s always refreshing to see new and original ideas like this.  I just wish the trailer didn’t look so bad:

-The puppet sex gag went on for far too long.

-Maybe it’s just me, but I’m getting sick of Melissa McCarthy.  She has been wasting her potential with everything she’s been involved with for the past three years especially and her moments here look like more of the same.

Like I said I’m not against the idea of this.  I’m all for it.  But all this trailer is just the basic concept of LOOK AT THE PUPPETS SWEAR, DO DRUGS, ACT VIOLENT, AND FUCK!  I hope the movie is saving the good jokes for the actual film because this trailer is incredibly squandered potential.

I was considering Cobble Hill but I was like ehh maybe anothe rday, I kinda wanna get away from the main town a bit

Any restaurants in the area you and your gf liked that you'd recommend?

I can’t wait to go back to Lake Placid next year because I definitely want to do more trails and hopefully the Olympic Training Center will stop being under construction so I can do some exploring around there.

I love The Pickled Pig and definitely suggest there if you haven’t been.  They have a burger with homemade duck butter on it.  That alone is worth trying haha.

I do :funny: but I haven't watched the nominated shows from there (I used to watch Game of Thrones but I stopped lol)

I am happy that The Americans got some love, Betty Gilpin got a nom, and Maisel got some recognition?

Noah Schnapp should've gotten a nomination too IMO, he was fantastic last season

Still haven’t watched Maisel and can’t get into The Americans no matter how many times I’ve tried (Keri Russell is still underrated af in general though).  Rooting hard for Atlanta though.  This season was even better than the last one.

  4. Saw this with my girlfriend's nephew today.  Was legitimately curious since the trailers have been good leading up to this.

It was enjoyable.  I liked it.  It was surprisingly funnier for adults than it was for the children that mostly populated the theater.  Her nephew kept tapping my shoulder asking me to explain some of these superhero movie references to him.  Also, it was surprisingly much more character driven than I thought it would be too with Robin in particular getting a lot of screen time.

If I had one big problem with this movie though, it was super predictable.  Like even her nephew kept saying that he saw everything coming that happened.  The big twist in the movie is not even that shocking because anyone could have seen it coming.  The story could have used a lot more effort put into it, but it wasn't to the detriment of the comedy, characters, and most importantly the fun.  It's definitely a fun time that I probably won't rush to sit through again, but if it's on cable, yeah I might watch it.

Also, the mid credits scene is a definite must.  Felt very appreciated to see that.

Just noticed this spin-off and read each episode so far. I love it. One of the better ones I've seen in quite some time. You should definitely continue with more! :D

You’re too nice.  I don’t even remember this and that MDPP even wrote a spinoff.  I always thought his legacy in this section was that intentionally crappy cartoon.

  6. Wait didn’t I have a previous tv series review thread that I wasn’t dedicated to at all?  You’re right all four of you who remember that flop of a thread.

If it isn’t obvious, I want to improve my reviews of anything television related.  Hence why I’m trying this again.  But instead of limiting myself to individual episodes of any show, I’m going to open myself to do much more.  I’ll be making top and bottom ten lists.  I’ll be reviewing series as a whole.  Hell I might try to do season by season reviews like Wumbo and Cyanide.

So with that being said, what am I going to do first?

What proud show should be my first victim?

Not a surprise to those I told on Discord yesterday, but let’s talk about Family Guy.  A show I’m going to dedicate two separate posts towards.

My first project is my Top 11 Worst Episodes of Family Guy.  Why eleven?  Because I like to go one step further and because if any of you remember the old thread, you all know one of the episodes already so I want to surprise you with my thoughts on another one.

    Coming soon.

  7. Wow talk about a thread I completely forgot about.  And I’m not just talking about the reboot because that was pretty forgettable too.  So many cringeworthy posts from a guy who didn’t even watch this movie.

Did you ever see the Rocky Horror remake?

I sure did.  It was awful awful awful.  Like not even Tim Curry could save it.

It's honestly a shame Alison Brie wasn't nominated for an Emmy? She's doing some great comedic work there.

She really is.  Don’t completely agree with a lot of the Emmy nominations this year more than ever because I don’t have HBO.

  9. -I guess this is unpopular based off our Discord discussion the other night, but I think “Never Be The Same” is fucking terrible.  It’s a slog of a song that has the most overdone metaphors in pop music history, does absolutely nothing new with it, is not sexy in the slightest, and Camila’s vocals are grating.  Sorry.

-The Carters album was a massive disappointment.  Felt like Jay’s “Magna Carta...Holy Grail” album on steroids.  That being said, APESHIT bangs.

-Despite thinking Post Malone is a piece of trash, I thought Beerbongs & Bentley’s was good.

-The main reason I think The Incredibles 2 > The Incredibles is because the family dynamic is explored so much better than it did in the first one and thus making it a better movie all the more for it.  Although I will agree The Screen Slaver reveal was extremely predictable from the first few minutes of screen time Evelyn had.  Still a damn excellent movie.

-Parks and Recreation >>>>>>>>>>>>> The Office.  Pretty sure I’ve said that before but now more than ever do I agree with this sentiment after binge watching both back to back.

-Mustard is the worst condiment out there.

-As much as I love the sport and as often as I play it, basketball is starting to become the most overexposed sport on television with the amount of screen time and news updates it gets on sport networks.  More so than football.  Hell its baseball season and baseball stories are taking a backseat to unnecessary in depth free agency updates on rotation players.

-Pepperoni is my least favorite pizza topping.  Last thing I want on my pizza is an extra salty meat.

also which ones did you do?

I only did one this time but definitely plan on doing more next year.  The hike I did was Cobble Hill.  Mirror Lake in general is such a gorgeous body of water and the girlfriend and I were thinking we should do our honeymoon up there.

Thoughts on season 2 of Glow if you've seen it?

Sadly haven’t finished yet due to working a bunch (got three more to go though) but so far just as great as the first season.

  11. GODZILLA!  MOTHRA!  RODAN!  KING GHIDORAH!  ELEVEN COMBATING AGAINST THEM WITH HER ICONIC SCREAMS!  THAT MUSICAL SCORE!

Good lord am I sold on this Warner Brothers Monsterverse especially since this is building up to Godzilla vs King Kong.

  12. This world James Wan built for this movie is damn beautiful.  Really bright colors and excellent CGI.

Then you hear some of the lines that they use in this trailer and I can’t help but groan every now and then at some of these lines:

“That was the worst pep talk.  Ever” - Um no.  She was just generalizing your actions, what!?

”Red heads.  Gotta love him.  AAAAWWWOOOO” - I think this is self explanatory.

Still plan on seeing this though either way.  Looks a lot better than I ever thought an Aquaman movie would be.

  13. I watched this trailer at work the other day. A lot of my coworkers were bashing it because they automatically think it’s going to suck due to DC.  I actually agree with you guys that this was really good.  Only thing that I thought was lame was the DC  self loving shots of the Bat symbol and the Superman newsclippings.  Yeah this trailer has me stoked for the movie.

  14. Honestly found the sequel better than the original.  After the emotional turmoil of Infinity War (in a good way mind you), this was refreshing light hearted fun and a good time.  The comedy was on point and often hit (love how they made fun of how much they said quantum).   The story was compelling.  I also love how the antagonists weren’t really bad guys (except for Walton Goggins slick businessman character who is pretty forgettable tbh).  I don’t know if Marvel will make any more individual Ant Man movies for awhile since the box office isn’t as favorable to this franchise unlike other Marvel entities, but I hope they do.  Because this cast is just way too likeable and these movies are far more fun than you would expect them to be initially.

And I’ve got a few theories for the Infinity War follow up based off of the mid credits scene but I’ll save that for another time.

Yay, another DCEU parody! I'd love to guest write again, since I haven't done one for close to three years and have a lot great non-Snark Knight-related ideas.

  17. Before this episode begins, a word from the author himself.

In light of recent events, I did some major recasting for today’s episode.  Which will indeed affect the SBCinema DC Parody Extended Universe.  For those of you who still remember (and I don’t blame you, I’ve written like one or two episodes of this in the last year lmao), I originally had Tron casted as Wonder Woman.  Then yeah, the last year of chronological events happened involving Metalgate, so in conclusion: Fuck Tron.  If Marvel is allowed to recast so many of their characters, so can I this once.  Get an actual deserving user this role because it’s the only good DCEU SBCinema film.

    77. Wonder Homie

    Film: Wonder Woman

In present-day forum life, Homie receives a photographic plate from JCEnterprises of herself and four men taken during World War SBC, prompting her to recall her past. Daughter of Queen Taylor, Homie was raised on the hidden island of Reputation, home to the AmazoniStan warrior women created to protect mankind. Queen Taylor shares the AmazoniStan history with Homie, including how Nematoad became jealous of humanity and orchestrated its destruction. When the other stans attempted to stop him, Nematoad ended all but Jjs, who used the last of his admin powers to wound Nematoad and force his retreat (thus dying in the process). Jjs left the AmazoniStans the island and a weapon, the "Toddkiller" a sword of critical praise, to prepare them for Nematoad' return.

Although she initially forbids Homie to be trained as a warrior, Queen Taylor reluctantly agrees to let her fellow stan sister, Katniss, train Homie, only more rigorously than any other warrior. In 1975, Homie, now a young woman, rescues American pilot Captain Hayden when his plane crashes off the Reputation coast. The island is soon invaded by a SBM light cruiser that had been pursuing Hayden. The AmazoniStans kill the crew, but Katniss sacrifices herself to save Homie (by taking the bullet fired from a SBM sailor that was meant for Homie). Hayden is interrogated with the Lasso of 1989, and reveals that a great war is consuming the outside world and that he is a spy. He has stolen a document of the chief chemist Cream, who is attempting to engineer a deadlier form of the red pill, under the orders of General Metaldorff from a weapon facility in the Resist Jjs Empire. Believing Nematoad to be responsible for the war, Homie arms herself with the "Toddkiller" sword, the lasso, and her armor before leaving Reputation Island with Hayden to locate and stop Nematoad for good.

In SBC, they are told to deliver Cream's notebook to the SBCCouncil, where Sir PatBack is trying to negotiate an armistice with SBM. Homie translates Cream's notes and reveals that the SBM plan to release the deadly red pill at the Western Front. Although forbidden by his commander to act, Hayden, with secret funding from Sir PatBack, recruits former admins 70s, tvguy, and Nuggets to help prevent the red pil from being released. The team reaches the front in Belgium. Homie goes alone through Krabby Land and captures the enemy trench, allowing the SBC forces to help her liberate the Discord village. The team briefly celebrates, while Homie and Hayden grow closer romantically.

The team learns that a gala will be held at the nearby SBM High Command. Hayden and Homie separately infiltrate the party, with Hayden intending to locate the red pill and destroy it, while Homie intends to kill Metaldorff, believing that he is Nematoad and thus killing him will end the war. Hayden stops her to avoid jeopardizing his mission, but this allows Metaldorff to unleash the red pill on SBC, killing its inhabitants with documents. Blaming Hayden for intervening, Homie pursues Metaldorff to a base where the red pill is being loaded into an even bigger document bound for the SBC Wiki. Homie fights and kills Metaldorff, but is confused and disillusioned when his death does not stop the war.

Sir PatBack appears and reveals himself as Nematoad. He tells Homie that although he has subtly given scientology ideas and inspirations, using Metaldorff and Cream as pawns in the process, it is ultimately their decision to resort to violence as they are inherently corrupted by not believing in the power of Xenu. When Homie attempts to kill PatBack with the "Toddkiller" sword, he destroys it, then reveals Homie to be the "Toddkiller", as the daughter of Queen Taylor. He fails to persuade Homie to help him destroy mankind in order to restore paradise. While the two battle, Hayden's team destroys Cream's laboratory. Hayden hijacks and pilots the document carrying all of Metaldorff’s bullshit suspicions and red pills to a safe altitude and deletes it, sacrificing himself in the process. PatBack attempts to direct Homie's rage and grief at Hayden's death by convincing her to kill Cream, but the memories of her experiences with Hayden cause her to realize that humans have good within them. She spares Cream and redirects PatBack’s lightning into him, killing him for good. Later, the team celebrates the end of the war. In the present day, Homie sends an email to JCM thanking him for the photographic plate of her and Hayden and reaffirms her new mission to fight and give on the world's behalf.

  18. I discussed this with you already, but Rampage is exactly what I’m looking for in a cheesy action movie.  Any movie where it has a gigantic gorilla giving the middle finger is fucking fantastic.  Plus The Rock will always be charismatic enough to keep my attention even in the most half-assed of movies.

Haven’t seen almost all of this list (so far) otherwise, but I do agree that Winchester is a fucking bore.
