As of November 2022, the SBC staff are exploring the possibility of a future SpongeCraft reboot, stating that, if it were re-launched, the server would continue to operate on version 1.12.2, but as a survival rather than creative game.
Talks of a possible V2 revival of SpongeCraft began in November 2022, and were later officially confirmed alongside the launch of [[Seahorse 15]] in April 2023. Set to be hosted by [[HawkbitAlpha]], SpongeCraft V2 will continue to run on the 1.12.2 version of Minecraft, but will be a survival server as opposed to the original creative game.
