  1. Hello Bikini Bottom was an okay episode. Wasn't bad or anything. The plot didn't have much substance besides SpongeBob and Squidward attempting to go around town and start a gig but them failing each time. The ending included because the townspeople were watching the light show and not SB and Squiddy. Mr. Krabs got what he deserved, but I don't think the episode was worth all the hype. Some funny tidbits were thrown in "still too loud!!!" is one, the tire snacks was another. Overall I'll give it a 6/10.

Here's some interesting trivia: The season 8 holdovers were produced alongside the beginning of season 9, they cropped the last few season 8 episodes to standard definition on purpose to keep them consistent with the rest of the season.

This episode was actually still being worked on while they had already shipped season 9A to Korea in January 2012. They also already recorded all the voices for Extreme Spots in January too. There are model sheets from this episode with dates of March 2012.

The only reason why this episode is still signed off as season eight is because it was conceived first (it was in the storyboarding/outlining phase before they started season 9)

This episode is just a Squidward torture episode! People say "Under the Small Top" and "Squidward's Sick Daze" are the first Season 13 Squidward torture episodes, but I disagree. He deserved it in both episodes. Did he do anything wrong in this one? No!!

Who hasn't called out because they didn't feel like coming in? Squidward didn't deserve that level of torture. He rarely calls out of work.

    More upcoming episodes revealed:

274A: Big Bad Bubble Bass: Karen tells the fairytale of a nerd trying to steal an action figure from his three little neighbors.

274B: Sea-Man Sponge Haters Club: Squidward hosts a secret 'We Hate SpongeBob Club' at his house.

277A: Patrick the Mailman: Patrick crushes the mailman, so he and SpongeBob deliver the mail around Bikini Bottom.

    Patrick the Mailman is 276b

  4. I wish they kept the episode as a special as it was intended. A lot of scenes were jaw droopingly inappropriate, the telescope eyes, the robot, and especially the one scene with the male fish and the female fish in the car that ran Sandy over, which was inapropriate enough for the episode to warrant a TV-PG rating instead of Y7. The explosions were deleted because of 9/11. This episode I'm assuming was voice recorded and storyboarded before 9/11. Some parts of the storyboard are post-movie esque too, such as the comic book guy. The part of Mermaidman using fish communication is also something that you would see in a post-movie episode.

  5. Do you think that the season 8 holdovers were produced independently from the start of season 9, or were they working on the beginning of season 9. Do you think they made the last few episodes of season 8 4:3 on purpose to keep them consistent with the rest of the season. I understand that other seasons overlapped, but it's weird doing this is the show had already transitioned to HD, it might confuse some viewers to air new episodes in standard definition after a few HD episodes had already aired.
