After counting all the episodes that made the Bottom 50, here are the seasonal statistics.
Season 1-3: 0 (thank goodness, I mean we all have our own personal scapegoat, but I don’t think there are any unanimously agreed dumpster fires.)
Season 4: 1
Season 5: 5
Season 6: 13
Season 7: 16
Season 8: 8
Season 9: 4
Season 10: 1
Season 11: 1
Season 12: 1
Not surprising at all which two seasons were the most represented.

The Flash in that announcement trailer is...something, but it’s so gratifying to see SpongeBob look old-school again, if for just a few seconds.
This is such great news! Battle for Bikini Bottom is a part of the franchise’s history, and needs to be shared with kids today. I’m just hoping there’s talent behind it that can buff out the scratches in the original. There’d be no point in remaking the Kelp Forest if it’ll still be bad.
Also, coupled with the rumours of a Simpsons: Hit and Run remake, this could be the year of 2003 tie-in game revivals!

While it didn’t turn out to be Planet Sheen 2.0, I still have a couple fears with this.
1. It could turn into a rip-off of Camp Lazlo, and steal some of its jokes.
2. SpongeBob relates to 10 year olds more than any demographic in his “adult” form, so aging him down to their level seems a bit odd.
3. I hope the CGi is at least remotely comparable to Sponge Out of Water, which seems unlikely since this is a TV show.
I just really don’t want this to be a step back in a technical department, or for the franchise. But at least since CGi is still more restrictive than 2D animation, at least the faces and movements won’t be as wacky...?

On May 1st, the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob’s sneak peak premiere after the ‘99 Kids Choice Awards, I made a commentary track for the 3 misadventures that started it all, offering how I feel about them, and all the history leading up to them, as well as the history they made. I plan to do this for every episode as they turn 20, to compensate for SpongeBob’s official commentary tracks being minimal (and from what I’ve heard, very boring). I’ve got a good feeling about this venture, since this first SpongeCom has more views than all my reviews for shows other than SpongeBob combined. (You could check those reviews out too, the Ren & Stimpy one turned out pretty good. )

I’d probably watch Ink Lemonade over Choir Boys in a heartbeat, but they’re still both really bad episodes that stain SpongeBob as a series.

No, since I doubt those are easy to find like the US archived schedules can be

I can’t find a lick of information about New Zealand airings, except for its premiere being around March 2000. I’ve even tried looking up if anyone has a massive collection of New Zealand TV guides, but I’m sad to announce, such a specific case hasn’t been posted about online.

It’s good that could sneak one more bomb of episodes in before Truth or Square’s equivalent to a direct-to-video sequel done in Canada.
All of these are episode ideas I’ve been interested in, except Stormy Weather which sounds pretty basic.

That was fine for what it was. Can’t wait to see this remake of Good Neighbors on the big screen at Toy Story 4.
-
I think I’ll remain mixed on this ‘til the very end. The characters being the VAs in live action seems like a ridiculous gimmick that may or may not work, but I hope they pay more respect to the series’ history than Truth or Square.
-
Nitwitting and Summer Job are pretty darn awful, but I’m fine with them being around the midway point.
As for Sponge-Cano! and WhoBob, I’m not quite as angry with them, but they’re rightfully infamous.
-
The fact that these two (Love Patty/Demolition) are hardly near the Bottom 20 is, let’s just say,
problematic.

Huh, besides Waiting, I’d honestly disagree with these three spots. I’m completely fine with Sportz?, and find House Sittin’ and Atlantis to be bad but harmless.
-
No complaints about Face Freeze!, Cephalopod Lodge, All That Glitters and Shuffle-Boarding being on the list, but I’ll contest that Cephalopod Lodge is hardly among the worst Squid Abuse episodes in Season 6.
-
Again, I understand their placing and why people may not hate The Card as much anymore, but I personally had it on my list.
-
Well one thing’s for certain...this certainly won’t be introducing slopes to SBC.
-
I can tell people don’t hate Pet Sitter Pat as much as they used to, but it still dsserved a spot on this list IMO, though not very high. The Play’s The Thing is your typical Season 7 episode- average premise, well below average outcome.
-
Woo, we’re getting to some real suckers, now! I don’t mind Squidward’s School for Grown-Ups that much, but Gone and You Don’t Know Sponge are particularly frustrating.
I wonder when the Season 10-12 spots are coming.

So far so good. Not super awful episodes, but this is still the start of the list.

Ok Mr Burns, what’s your first name?
