  1. Number 18: Penny Foolish

Man, this was my least favorite episode of the series when it first came out. Little did I know that it would be much more tolerable. It’s still terrible as an episode. Just not as bad as… 17 worse episodes. *shivers*

One day while grocery shopping, Mr. Krabs sees Spongebob pick up a penny across the street. He’s so bedazzled by this “strange occurrence” that for the rest of the day, he sees a penny in the place of any rounded object.

Because of this, Mr. Krabs sets out to get this penny from Spongebob. And this is where the episode starts to fall downhill. Mr. Krabs makes many MANY attempts to get the penny from Spongebob by doing crazy things like setting up a movie theater and even setting up an incredibly sappy monologue revolving around how he has no pennies. What’s really ironic about all this is that these schemes Mr. Krabs was setting up probably cost him more than thousands of pennies! So, this just makes him look even more foolish than before.

Near the end, Spongebob catches Mr. Krabs red handed. Or should I say, red clawed? Mr. Krabs apologizes for trying to steal the penny away from Spongebob. But it turns out that the penny was actually just a piece of chewed gum Spongebob collected to add to his chewed gum collection.

Relieved, Mr. Krabs leaves the pineapple knowing that there was no penny after all. Oh but guess what, he’s digging in Spongebob’s yard because he STILL thinks that the stupid penny might be there!

You see why this was my least favorite episode at the time? The writers tried WAY too hard to make Mr. Krabs’ greed comedic. This episode is stupid, repetitive, and it just takes Mr. Krabs greed waaaay too far! Just wait until you see the other Mr. Krabs episodes that made it on here! And there are quite a few.

Hope you liked the first part of my top 20 worst Spongebob episodes! The next few will be available soon!

HInt for next episode: Sharing is Caring!

  2. Number 19: Squid Wood

There have been a lot of episodes that revolved around torturing Squidward and making him miserable. This is one of them!

The episode starts off with Spongebob trying to invite Squidward to play games with him. After many failed attempts, Spongebob decides to make a Squidward esque puppet named Mini-Squid.

This takes the burden off of Squidward, but while he and Spongebob (who’s carrying Mini-Squid) are working at the Krusty Krab, it proves to be an even bigger burden than he thought, as everyone seems to like Mini-Squid more than Squidward. The customers like Mini-Squid’s attitude more. They think that it’s more humorous. And they even find it more talented than Squidward! You know what’s wrong with this scenario? Everybody who’s applauding this puppet don’t even realize that it’s a puppet! Are the people of Bikini Bottom really that stupid?

After seeing that his life has pretty much been taken over by this puppet, Squidward snaps and he savagely tries to destroy Mini-Squid. But then, a contractor stops Squidward from mauling the puppet to give him the final blow. Squidward realizes the man is a producer that represents his favorite clarinet player. Squidward thinks he’s there to sign him up, but the producer takes Mini Squid instead. Squidward tries to impress him, but fails with the agent essentially telling him that he will never become famous. Squidward is upset that the man didn’t sign him up, but he is also happy that Mini-Squid is gone for good. Unfortunately for him, Spongebob has created ANOTHER puppet of himself. And the episode ends with Spongebob and his puppet laughing after each other, which irritates Squidward.

Well what can I say? This episode sucks because the plot is weak, the people at the Krusty Krab are just stupid, and this happens to be one of the worst Squidward torture fests. If only this was the only one this show had to offer. If only…

Number 18 will be available soon!

  3. This was inspired by MoBros' Studios Top 20 Worst Spongebob Episodes. Like many of you people, I have seen quite a few bad episodes of Spongebob, ranging from mediocre, to disgusting, to just downright awful! I am here to list 20 of the most abysmal episodes this show had to offer. Enjoy! Starting with number 20:

    Number 20: Dear Vikings

In this episode, Mr. Krabs creates a "promotion" to the Krusty Krab by selling Regular, Large and Viking Sized Drinks (Which are all the same size) in a bid to save the restaurant money yet to fool the customers. He also states whoever purchases a Viking Sized cup tries on a cardboard helmet (that he found in his attic). This gets SpongeBob interested in Vikings. And he asks this question (to Mr. Krabs): "What's a Viking?"

Apparently the writers forgot Leaf Erikson day. Anyways, since Mr. Krabs is unable to tell Spongebob about them, Spongebob goes to Squidward for information. And so, Squidward makes up an answer, which is just the Vikings (an ancient people) doing modern things such as watching movies (on screen movies) and holding a sock collecting convention. So original. Wanting to know more, Spongebob sends a letter to the Vikings. Once the Viking Chief receives the letter, He then sends his men to the Krusty Krab (on a large ship) to teach them about the Vikings (which is redecorating (demolishing things), appropriating (stealing loot), and liberating (taking people hostage)).

Once the Vikings kidnap Spongebob and Squidward, the leader of the group introduces himself as Gordon. And, get this, everybody else on the ship is named Olaf. Gordon decides to make Spongebob the head chef and he makes Squidward the bathroom attendant.

Outraged, Squidward turns rebellious towards the Vikings, which only makes the Vikings tie him to a catapult, about to throw him off the ship. Spongebob tries to stop them when the ship suddenly hits an iceberg, creating a hole. The ship starts to sink and the Vikings panic.

And this is where one of the cheesiest endings come into play. Spongebob releases Squidward from the catapult and then he jumps onto it. He throws a knife at the rope, which launches him at the gap. Upon hitting the gap, Spongebob absorbs the water that has leaked into the ship, thus saving everyone from drowning. And then he ends the episode by saying this: “Now that’s what I call a Viking Sized Adventure!”

Like many other fans, I found this episode to be stupid and boring. The plot was boring. The humor was lacking. And this episode made the Vikings look like fools! Although many Spongebob fans have found this episode to be abysmal, it was actually nominated for a primetime Emmy. Oh the vast disappointment.

So that’s number 20 on my worst episodes list. Number 19 will come soon
