The SBC Discord was originally created for use with SpongeCraft, although it has expanded and become a successor to the aging [[The SpongeBob Community Xat|SBC Xat]], which was declared unofficial in January 2014, and which was later abandoned entirely in favor of Discord. With a steadily-increasing number of users, the Discord server has grown to become the main hub of socialization on SBC, with (as of September 17th, 2022) a total of 98 users and 5 bots (MEE6, Starboard, UnbelievaBoat, Chuu and Pronoun Picker). There are 3 chat categories, 1 voice category, and 1 archive category. (check below for more details) Discord can run on various platforms, such as Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Alternatively, you can access Discord with the web app, available [https://discordapp.com here]. You used to be able to earn doubloons on the Discord, through Karen, but the feature was disabled in September [[2018]].
