Several incarnations of SpongeBoard existed as early as [[2009]] before it became an automated system in [[2013]]. Unlike regular views on the forum that count bots as views, SpongeBoard only counts views as when a user clicks onto a spin-off/lit thread. It is an accurate representation of how many people are reading a spin-off or lit.
