The following characters were suspects: SpongeBob, Old Man Jenkins, Squilliam, Squidward, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Perch Perkins, and Mr. Krabs. On select days during the event, the characters will come on and release their anecdote on what happened. The characters would also come on to answer user's questions as well in their topics. The winners who correctly guessed (Homie, Hayden, SpongeOddFan, [[Ol Bold and Brash]], [[TheOpenWindowManiac]], Trophy, Fred Rechid and NegiSpongie) received 5,000 doubloons each and a point for their teams on the scoreboard. However, one new feature in this Whodunnit is that the characters will mention where to find their presents that they hid, and whoever finds it first gets a team point.
