Overlandia

Overlandia (known as Outlandia from 2024 to 2025) was the second and final core map of SpongeCraft Frontiers. Following the loss of the Frontierlands with the server's January 2024 outage, it was decided that, with the server's reboot in February, a completely new map would be introduced. Since the server had been upgraded to 1.14.4 after launch, the SCF op team made the decision to use a seed that OWM had posted to the SBC Discord in October 2020, which he had jokingly claimed at the time that a new SpongeCraft server would use. It was a highly varied map which started players near a mushroom island, itself in proximity to a number of wildly different biomes. Its capital was Twinleaf Town, with Truffleville and Dunetooine being other player developments.

During the server's January 2026 overhaul, the conversion from Bukkit to Forge necessitated the removal of the Multiverse plugin, which allowed the server to simultaneously feature both Overlandia and SpongeCraft Classic's world of Spongecraftia. It was decided by the server ops that Spongecraftia would once again become the server's core world, resulting in Overlandia's retirement and archival upon the launch of SpongeCraft Forge.

Trivia

• The map was originally named Outlandia, after the capital city of the same name from Outland Spongecraftia in SpongeCraft Classic. Due to the addition of Spongecraftia to the server, the world was renamed in January 2025 to avoid confusion between the two.
