The Liminal Space Express is a network of super-speed pedestrian tunnels in Overlandia, connecting towns and other points of interest across the world of SpongeCraft Frontiers. A spiritual successor to the highway system of SpongeCraft Classic, it is the fastest mode of transportation in the server, and a key component of incorporating new villages across Overlandia, as each new municipality must be connected to at least one other by a tunnel. The first tunnel, connecting Twinleaf Town and Truffleville, was built and opened in September 2024, replacing the short-lived Outlander Railway.
The tunnels of the Liminal Space Express network are powered by a server plugin known as SpeedRoads, which allows pathways built using certain layers to provide speed boosts to anyone who walks on them; a similar plugin, Highway, was previously used for the on-foot super-highways seen in certain parts of Spongecraftia.
