For the first time in a long while, some major staff controversy occurred on SBC come late May 2018, when [[Cream]] and [[Metal Snake]] (with [[Spongetron Robotpants]] as a complicit assistant) conspired behind the scenes to create a 14 page document attacking jjs and several users, which included a multitude of false and easily debunk-able statements - appropriately called [[Metalgate]]. This resulted in Metal and Cream stepping down from their positions and leaving SBC. [[Fry Cooks]] were revived on June 7th, 2018, consisting of: [[Cha]], [[Patty Sponge]] and [[JCM]]. SBC's Discord got much more active come June, and has become even more popular than the [[The SpongeBob Community Xat|Xat]]. Over the course of 3 days (June 29th to July 1st), [[Third SBC Renaissance|a major series of events occured on SBC]]. These events centered around the ban and demotion of long-time user and administrator ~~hilaryfan80~~.
