'''Squid''' was a spin-off written by [[tvguy347]] and a variety of guest writers. Created in the style of original TV.com spin-offs, ''Squid'' is the first spin-off grounded entirely in the SpongeBob universe by tvguy since 2009. It is the first spin-off written in the classic TV.com-style since that time as well. It became tvguy's second show to hit #1 on the [[SpongeBoard]] after his 2013 hit [[The Inside Job]]. Squid is often described as a legacy spin-off for the SBC spin-off/lit community, with a variety of spin-off/lit writers contributing to the show, including TV.com veterans [[Clappy]] and [[terminoob]], [[Skodwarde]] creator [[Old Man Jenkins|OMJ]], new writer [[Cha]], and Spinny Award-winning writers [[Steel Sponge]], [[JCM]], and [[teenj12]].

From December 2016 onward, jjs ran the spin-off, after tvguy gave him the rights due to not having time to continue it. Season 2 premiered January 16th, 2017. Season 3 premiered August 4th, 2017. It was later announced on December 27th, 2017 that Season 3 would be the work's final season with an additional 5 episodes.

Squid concluded on June 10, 2018.
