'''Cashier for a Week''' is a store item that has existed in two different forms, allowing you to become a [[Cashiers|Cashier]] (moderator) for a limited period of time. The original iteration was known as '''Become a Cashier for a Day''', lasting from 2010 to 2015. Using the item would give you basic mod features for 24 hours, but [[List of SBC Forums|Staff Lounge]] access was restricted starting in November 2012. On July 2nd, 2015, the item was removed from the store due to users abusing their power with it. A [http://www.thesbcommunity.com/forums/index.php?/topic/12032-store-reform-ii-the-death-of-mod-for-a-day/ thread] was created by moderator [[ClassicNickelodeon Fan 1|CNF1]] which announced the removal. The item's removal prompted [[Storm]] to break into [[Patty Sponge|Patty Sponge's]] account as a protest.

After nearly 10 years, the item would eventually be retooled as '''Cashier for a Week''' as a prize store item during [[Arcade Anarchy IV]]. Due to that experiment going well, Cashier for a Week later became a permanent store item again on July 18th, 2025 for [[Plankton 16]]. It still costs 20,000 doubloons, Staff Lounge access is no longer barred and users can get mod permissions on Discord now. This iteration treats the privilege as an internship and your behavior will be closely monitored to prevent repeating the original item's issues.

==Trivia==
* This item used to allow Staff Lounge access, but the privilege was taken away due to info being leaked from the forum, and the staff could not trust anyone anymore with such a privilege. A loophole allowed people to still view the Staff Lounge for a time in 2014 however. Users can see the Staff Lounge again using the item as of 2025.
* This item, along with [[Name Change]] and [[King Neptune for a Day]], are the only three items to remain from Forumotion in the store.
