Popular Post Clappy Posted November 2, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 2, 2013 Well I don't think there is ever an easy way to say this, but since there were signs of this announcement not only last night, but this morning, better say this now before even more people find out. You are resigning as an admin? WHY!?!?! Well I figure I better give you a completely honest answer. And what better way to show it then by a recent topic made? http://www.thesbcommunity.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9636-do-you-see-yourself-still-being-active-on-sbc-5-years-from-now-assuming-it-lasts-that-long/ Note: This has nothing to do with the actual topic I linked in. It's just coincidence that it was made during my break. Guys, we all reach that point and time where we just lose the passion and spark. I hit that point this past July. I was going to resign and even made an unofficial announcement in a staff lounge topic on impulse. Dylan and Nuggets both talked me into staying for awhile longer. I accepted those terms and conditions because I felt that was what's best for the site. However, I didn't think about what was best for me. That's why I am resigning as an administrator of SBC/SBU effective this Monday. Almost all of you know that I am 24 years old. I recently graduated from college and have been looking incredibly hard for a full time job. I had one for a short period of time and I lost it. I had another one for awhile too, but then I got demoted to part-time again. Guys, I am a massive workaholic and I really want full time job security again. Especially in this economy. I am currently still working part time for a company that doesn't respect me and am only still working there because I need money. Work is definitely priority numero uno for me since my love life is virtually non-existent. So I should prioritize myself accordingly. I have multiple job opportunities that are coming my way with all the applications I have been filling out. Hell, I have interviews coming up with communication companies around Washington D.C. and even New York City. Guys, both of those areas are dream job city opportunities I've always wanted. I don't know if I'm going to get either of those jobs and that is a stretch assuming so, but it's worth a shot. I know what you're thinking, what does any of this have to do with SBC? Why can't I just make side time conveniently for SBC? Well guys...to be quite honest...I don't have time to do that much anymore. I mean I've taken four breaks in four months. Some for a few weeks, this most recent one for a month. I'm telling you guys now, more of those kinds of breaks are coming for me. You guys deserve an administrator that can make time to make SBC a better forum, enforce the rules, fix bugs, make SBU successful, etc. At this time and probably for the foreseeable future, I can't offer that. While I won't be entirely leaving the forums, I just don't have the time to be an active regular anymore. Maybe once in a blue moon, I can make hundreds of posts like I did last night and probably the rest of the weekend, but my highly active days are long gone. So to reference the link once more, do I see myself active here in five years? No, I honestly don't. That doesn't mean I don't see SBC itself still being here. Guys, I know I am one of the originators and one of the longest lasting members from the late 2000s, but the C in SBC doesn't stand for Clappy. It's a Community. You guys can easily make just as long a lasting impression as I have for SBC. You are all more capable than you can possibly imagine. Just take my example of trying to be everyone's best friend and you can have friendships that are going to last. That is the reason why I am never going to be entirely gone from the forums. I cherish my friendships I have made here and that will be the emotional attachment that will still have me visit SBC even when I'm not an administrator anymore. Now to reference my topic title. Consider this me passing the guard to each and every one of you. Be the reason for others to come visit SBC every day. Be a friend to each other just like I have to every single one of you. Oh and most importantly, make corny speeches every once in awhile since it will make you all feel special on the inside like I seem to do constantly. Well guys, you are all special to me, that's why I do these sorts of corny things. 20
So Sejima Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 you were a great admin really you did your best you could but sadly the economy of real life has to push you away from here. I think it's for the best you resign not due to hatred but yeah I sadly agree with you being inactive lately and all 2

terminoob Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 No, when I made this site I definitely made the "C" in SBC stand for Clappy. 8
Clappy Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 No, when I made this site I definitely made the "C" in SBC stand for Clappy. Oh really? I thought you made the "C" for KingofClubs, your short lived tv.com ban dodging account.
terminoob Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Oh really? I thought you made the "C" for KingofClubs, your short lived tv.com ban dodging account. Then it would've been SBK. Maybe on your breaks you can watch some Sesame Street and learn the alphabet. 4
Cha Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I can't say I'll be here in five years too, it's a long time. Clappy I respect all your decisions made here. Work is always more important than leisure forum time. Thanks for always being one of the best admins on SBC and in general. You've really helped us all emotionally through tough times whether it be for the forums themselves or in a private PM. And if you ever feel the need to communicate, you could always add me on FB as "Unlim Cha". 5

Guest Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 :smirk:Why are, you guys, liking the post? And... are you leaving your Moderator status or whole SBC?
JCM Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I can't say I didn't see this coming, especially with your announcement in July and all your recent breaks. I'm glad you stuck around in your position, because you really have been one of our best admins, but if your SBC work interferes with your real life work, then you probably are making the right decision. Good luck on your future prospects. 2
Guest Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I even expected something like this. Good luck!

E.V.I.L. Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Good luck in life. Hopefully you do visit every once in a blue moon, because I must spam you those blue moons. For now, have a wonderful life.... and we'll see ya later in NYC/DC. 2
Cha Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 :smirk:Why are, you guys, liking the post? And... are you leaving your Moderator status or whole SBC? We secretly wanted Clappy gone ages ago and are finally declaring triumph over this. Come on people it was in the evil blueprint I spent all night making last summer. 3
