Séance Schméance is just another Season 9a episode; there's slow pacing, weak dialogue and otherwise mediocre execution. This episode is definitely no exception to that, and while it doesn't drag on as much as some other episodes from this era, it isn't far better than those ones. This one does have some interesting visuals to back it up a bit, along with being rather intriguing throughout, however, as stated above, it's not that great either. At the very least, this episode is yet another episode that could have been better, had it not been for the problems that plague Season 9a.
