I guess mostly in part to the fact that I never kept up with the show during my trip to the mainland. I have some srs rewatching to do before I watch anymore new episodes. I was growing away from cartoons and becoming more interested in teen shows, and Degrassi seemed so exciting and dramatic. In recent years I've become keen on the series again (and I've been binge-listening to a podcast that recaps/reviews every episode of Next Generation) plus I watched the first season of Next Class and it's solid.
