Doctor Jim: I have no clue. Let's check his coordinates. *Cues to inside Doctor Jim's Headquarters* Doctor Jim: According to the GPS scanner, he's heading to Russia. Squidward: Oh god, not there! It's fricken cold there! Squidward: And I was just getting my tan good. SpongeBob: Come on Squidward it will be fun! Squidward: No place is fun with you. SpongeBob: I thought we resolved this. Doctor Jim: Both of you shut up! Doctor Jim: Let's go team! *Cues to Russia* Patrick: Brrr. It's sure cold here. SpongeBob: I agree so much Patrick. Doctor Jim: Alright gang, the bomber is apperently inside a Book Shop. *the gang walks to book shop* Russian Guy: Well hello! Merry Christmas to all! Russian Guy: What would you like? Doctor Jim: Sir, we have a complaint to file with you. Russian Guy: Look, my books are perfectly priced. Doctor Jim: Not the books. We are to believe that you bombed my headquarters. Russian Guy: ... Russian Guy: PREPARE TO BE TERMINATED. *The Russian guy fires a laser at the gang* *Doctor Jim dodges and kicks the Russian dude, and the Russian dude falls onto the floor* Doctor Jim: There we go. Doctor Jim: Let's book him. *The police take away the Russian dude* Police: Thanks again! Police: And Merry Christmas! *Police walks away* Dr. Squid: *appears randomly* Ha! I sent the Russian guy to destroy your base so that you would perish! And on Christmas! Muahahahaha. SpongeBob: Hello Doctor Jim. SpongeBob: My great grandpa's farm was bombed. Doctor Jim: I wonder who could have done such a thing. Dr. Squid: You've done well New Mystery Man. Squidward: ...SpongeBob where are you? *explosion* Doctor Jim: What the? POW! *Doctor Jim is knocked out and dragged away* *Same thing happens to Grandma, Bill Fishgins, and Great Grandpa, who recentally joined the group* *We see SpongeBob panting and running to the door, only to be shot with a net, and dragged away* *White screen appears* *At Mystery Man's secret lair* SpongeBob: Huh? SpongeBob: Where am I? ???: You don't recognize me? ???: I am DR. SQUID. Dr. Squid: Now that me and the new Mystery Man have caught you, no one can stand in our way of dominating this town of BIKINI BOTTOM! Doctor Jim: Pssh. Over here. Doctor Jim: We're gonna plan a sneak attack on them. SpongeBob: NOT SO FAST! *Mystery Man Kicks SpongeBob and presses the button* SELF-DESTRUCT IN 5...4... Bill Fishgins: *tosses wrench in the air* Mystery Man: *look's at button* Oh crap... *The gang runs out as the lair explodes* Mystery Man: I'll get you next time SpongeBob! This I swear! Doctor Jim: Thank you all for coming. Doctor Jim: New info has been told to me. Doctor Jim: There's a barrel of this strange matter called "Slime" found near some old abandoned Bikini Bottom mines. Doctor Jim: The Mystery Man and Dr. Squid are gonna try and steal it so that they can make a profit off of it. Doctor Jim: We need to try and stop them. *They see Dr. Squid and Mystery Man trying to steal it* Doctor Jim: Stop them! After 1 hour of beating them up later... Museum Curator: Thank you so much all of you! *Gets in truck and leaves* SpongeBob: So what now? Narrator:...coughfillercough... Announcer: Welcome all you fishes to the best game show in the sea, THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Doctor Jim: No SpongeBob, it's not. Doctor Jim: The Mystery Man and Dr. Squid got away to Mexico, the problem is, I have no clue why. Doctor Jim: I have a feeling that they may attack us at any moment, so we must get to their secret base before they can strike. *We cue to the gang entering a cave area* INTRUDER ALERT INTRUDER ALERT *Falling pieces of the cave capture Grandma, Patrick, Squidward* Squidward: Save yourselves. *SpongeBob, Doctor Jim, and Bill Fishgins run out of the cave, just getting out before it all collapses* SpongeBob: *gets down on his knees* Doctor Jim: Come on now SpongeBob, let's get out of here before they catch us. *SpongeBob, Doctor Jim, and Bill Fishgins walk away from the cave in despair* *We see Doctor Jim, Bill Fishgins, and SpongeBob sitting, in despair* Doctor Jim: ...We need to ambush their base. *cues to the cave* Doctor Jim: Alright, when I give the signal, we're going to ambush. Squidward: Guys! Get out now! Squidward: IT'S A TRAP! *Bill Fishgins gets caught in a net, but Doctor Jim and SpongeBob nearly escape their doom* Mystery Man: I can destroy you right now. *Fires bazooka* *Doctor Jim and SpongeBob run to their car, start the motor, and get away as fast as possible.* Mystery Man: It's near the end SpongeBob. You'll have to fight me soon. *Laughs sinisterly* Doctor Jim: Well SpongeBob, I think the Mystery Man finally has us beat. Doctor Jim: There's no way we'll be able to take them on with just the two of us. SpongeBob: We can't just stand here and do nothing! SpongeBob: We must take action! Dr. Squid: Don't just sit there you idiot! Dr. Squid: We need to strike! Mystery Man: They'll be back. They'll be back. SpongeBob: Prepare for the fight of your life Mystery Man! *SpongeBob attacks Mystery Man* *Doctor Jim runs to the control panel and pushes the self-destruct button* Mystery Man: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. *The cave explodes* Mystery Man: This is not the end SpongeBob. SpongeBob: You can say that again. *We cue to SpongeBob's TV set* Perch Perkins: *on TV screen* We interrupt your program for an important news bulletin! There has been a jailbreak at the Bikini Bottom Jail! Many criminals attempted to escape, but were quickly captured by the local authorities. When tallies were counted, the count was 20 out of 22 That means 2 convicts escaped. We aren't sure who escaped, so please stay tuned for more news here on WBBN-TV. *Phone rings* SpongeBob: Hello? Doctor Jim: Hey SpongeBob. It's Doctor Jim. Did you see the news? SpongeBob: Yeah, pretty bad. Here's a special I wrote back in 2016, detailing the events of the remainder of the now scrapped Season 3: SpongeBob and His Friends SPECIAL - Dateline: Bikini Bottom - What Would Have Been: The Inside Scoop on SpongeBob and His Friends Season 3 Perch Perkins: Helloooooooo everybody, I'm Perch Perkins from Bikini Bottom News, and welcome to Dateline: Bikini Bottom! *theme song & intro sequence plays* Perch Perkins: Tonight, What Would Have Been: The Inside Scoop on SpongeBob and His Friends Season 3! Perch Perkins: Back in 2013, Season 3 of the long-running spin-off series SpongeBob and His Friends debuted. Ever since then, the show has disappeared into the shadows, without a trace since. Perch Perkins: Tonight, we shall find out the answers as to what's going on with Season 3 of this hit spin-off show. Perch Perkins: And in liu of having the creator himself join us, as he's unfortunately too busy at the studio right now to make an appearance, we have one of the main stars of the show here with us tonight to spill the beans on all your burning questions. Perch Perkins: Here's Doctor Jim! *audience cheers as Doctor Jim enters the studio, shakes his hand with Perch, and sits down on the chair next to Perch's* Perch Perkins: Thanks for being here tonight Doctor Jim, we really appreciate it. Doctor Jim: Glad to be here Perch. Perch Perkins: So let's start out by addressing the elephant in the room: What on earth is going on with SpongeBob and His Friends? Doctor Jim: Well, unfortunately, as tonight's episode title suggests,...the show has wrapped up production. *audience gasps, is in shock* Doctor Jim: Yes, this was unfortunately the decision of CNF1, our producer. Perch Perkins: My, how unfortunate indeed. Doctor Jim: Yes, yes it is. After the first episode, CNF1 just stopped writing the series and placed it under hiatus. He initially kept reducing the episode order for the season, until he just decided to end production entirely. And now, here we are, 3 years later. Perch Perkins: Were any additional episodes of the series shot? Doctor Jim: No, none at all. As I said, CNF1 stopped writing scripts after Episode 27. He did write a basic plotline as well as a few episode titles for the season, but that's about it. After a while, he just seemed to have lost interest in the series, in addition to the fact that CNF1 has become increasingly busy with other things, and thus doesn't have as much free time as he used to. Perch Perkins: Interesting, but sad as well. Would you mind sharing what CNF1 had planned for Season 3 had it kept going into production? Doctor Jim: Well, I'm not completely sure what he all had planned, but I'll try my best. Basically, the Mystery Man for Season 3 was to be Sandy, who would have also joined the gang as an ally. Perch Perkins: So basically a double agent then. Doctor Jim: Yes, yes, just like that. Eventually, Sandy would have joined the good side for good, parting ways with the two previous Mystery Men. SpongeBob, of course, would have convinced her to leave the dark side and join the good side, funnily enough, over a volcano. Perch Perkins: Over a volcano?!?! Doctor Jim: Yep, over a volcano. Sandy would have tried to constantly sabotage our gang's plans to defeat the Mystery Men for good over the course of the season. Eventually, the previous Mystery Men would have gotten fed up with Sandy, to the point where she would have had to launch her last ditch attempt to stop our gang: melting up in a huge bat of magma from a real, live volcano. Perch Perkins: My, my, how suspenseful! Doctor Jim: Yes, it sure is. Perch Perkins: I think the Mystery Men weren't the only people to get fed up with others. I've been hearing rumors that another reason the show shut down production was that the entire cast got into a feud with each other due to the long hiatus that the show took. Any creditability to this rumor? Doctor Jim: ...yes, unfortunately. I would have preferred to not have talked about this. Perch Perkins: Well, uh, my apologies, we can move onto a different subject if that's more comfortable with you. Doctor Jim: No, no, it's fine. Yes, this is, unfortunately, true. The hiatus was so long that all the drama surrounding what was going on with the series caused our fame to go to our heads. I am happy to say that we are slowly getting back to good terms with each other, but with pretty much every show these days, there's always some sort of drama in the background. Perch Perkins: Boy, you got that right. Guess that's why CNF1 didn't want to spend money on a real volcano for the set of his spin-off then! *audience laughs* Doctor Jim: Haha, yes, that's certainly true. It would have cost CNF1 a cool million I'd bet. Perch Perkins: I can certainly imagine that! *audience laughs again* Perch Perkins: Already, let's shift our focus to another topic. I've also been hearing rumors that the show was supposed to have a movie in production as well. What happened to this, if this indeed exists? Doctor Jim: Yes it did exist, but it never got fully off the ground. CNF1 only came up with a title for the film, which was SpongeBob and His Friends: The Movie - A Trip to Egypt. I think it had something to do with the gang going to Egypt to recover a stolen treasure from these grave robbers or something. Possibly an encounter with the Sphinx too, but I'm not entirely sure. Perch Perkins: Interesting. When would this have taken place in terms of storyline? Doctor Jim: Well, the movie was already conceived back during Season 1. However, CNF1 kept pushing it back, with it happening at the end of Season 2, the end of Season 3, to never at all. So, in reality, I'm not sure. It very likely had no mention of Sandy initially, but if it had finally gone into production after Season 3, it probably would have had Sandy in it. Perch Perkins: Interesting, interesting, yes.
