A Keynote

Hello, ladies and gents. Tonight I introduce to you something that will revolutionize The Spongebob Community as we know it. :PatDance:

This has been in development stages for a while now, but it's ready to go now. Before we get to the explanation, I'd like to talk to you all about SBC. As you all know, times have been weird on SBC for the past four months since the move to vBulletin. For one, we sacrificed around half of our activity as a lot of members that were still adapting to us as a community when we moved. The transition wasn't as smooth as we'd hoped, and while all bugs have been fixed and we've had major speed improvement, there's something that can't be fixed as easily as those things, and that's activity. SBC has always been unique in that there's always been a certain homey element to it. We still have a culture, we still have our core regulars, but I can't be the only one who senses the lack of "homeyness." So how do we go about fixing this? We've had numerous attempts that collapse right after they launch, promised features and functions that are constantly pushed back, never arrive on time, and when they do come, they're full of error, and various other problems around the board. This is something new; SBC was a "website" on Forumotion, but not in a full sense. SBC basically had everything handed to it. Forumotion was seamless in that we never had any bugs that weren't fixed within a few hours. However, that's our job now and it took a little longer. Now that everyone has settled into SBC being it's own website, things seem to have slowed.

There previously had been a unification of users. That's broken now. People post, but there's not a piece of interaction fitting into the puzzle. To reiterate: how is this going to be fixed? Posting alone can bring up activity, but it's not going to haul in new members, or provide that feeling of social interaction and excitement towards the site. For one, our advertisement efforts need to become serious and long term, and hopefully the team I've assembled can help achieve that. After sorting out the money ordeals we've had, we'll be taking out various amounts of ad space on Google AdWords, which can bring SBC to whole new audiences. Still, none of that fixes the state of the forum. What we're introducing today will hopefully solve this problem. The feature is called: card1f.png

(*From here on out, I'll be using these little cards to better demonstrate and stress points. It's cleaner and breaks up big blocks of text*) What is Teams? Well, for one, Teams will unify the forum, boost activity, and spur interest and enthusiasm, all in one. Not to mention it's extremely fun. Let's just go over some of the key points of Teams:card2o.png

Teams will be a way to give power to the users. Two teams will be provided, one being Good Noodles, the other an entirely new team. The two teams will compete against in each other in many aspects. There will be a site-wide RPG, minus the roleplaying of characters, in which users may purchase certain items with Doubloons to battle the other teams. Each team must be financially stable with Doubloons, or they may crumble. They will also compete in various other challenges, such as games to win prizes and dominate the other team. Each team will be given a forum, in which each team can govern and plot against the other. Anything flies, and there will be little to no staff intervention. One team can even overtake the other's forum. Prize Challenges will feature things such as giveaways to lucky users within each team, and Reward Challenges will provide something for every participant in the official team. card3.png

Teams will have a healthy and lasting impact on the site in most ways. It not only creates a situation where unification occurs and activity skyrockets, but also provides a solid point when it comes to advertising. Various other websites use similar tactics, but it's not common to have something that is site-wide and endorsed by staff, which is when it works best because it gets everyone involved. Our variations of this activity are unique and innovative, which serves the user in a great way and will usually have them stay. And finally, Teams will be immensely addictive. One more thing that makes Teams a wonder to use. This is something rare on SBC that is hardly ever seen, only displayed on Glove World: card4v.png

The cherry on top is an automated system. Nothing manual, like we're used to on SBC. Now... Teams may sound like a dream to you, or it may seem like it's being hyped up. Either way, once Teams arrives, you're going to fall in love with not only Teams, but with the renewed love for SBC that you may or may not have lost. Teams will return the warmth of SBC, the interaction, the activity, and bring all sorts of new things along with it. The official rules for Teams will be released on February 14, 2012, and will further detail this fabulous new addition to SBC culture. Teams will be released sometime between May and June. Teams includes the integrated system, challenges (Prize and Reward), custom forums with decorations (you'll see when it gets here), an updated Glove World inventory of weapons, special new graphics, and new powers to the users. But there's still one more thing... the thing you've been waiting for... Good Noodles have had access to the graphic below for some time, not knowing what it was: krustykrushers.png

I'm now happy to unveil, and welcome to SBC...

Registration is open to the Krusty Krushers on a discount of 5,000d. It's free for any Good Noodle to transfer to the Krusty Krushers. More information about both groups will be coming shortly! :) Until then, keep on posting, SBCers! -tvguy347

Am I the only person that was hoping it'd be called Gold Team?

As the site expands, there's room for more teams. We were also considering calling the group Goofy Goobers and Club Spongebob, although the Gold Team could also work. lolz
