Islands thoughts

Spoiler

honestly first three episodes didn't do too much for me. They were mostly set ups but later on, the miniseries got just as great as I expected. Forth episode was the most fun and creative one out of all but fifth and sixth ones were definitely the most important ones and I loved them os much. I'm so glad to learn Susan's past and where her strengh came from. It was great to see Dr. Gross appearing in the backstory as well. Sixth one was definitely the answer the fans have been asking for and it delivered it masterfully. It was great to see Finn's mom, Mirvena for the first time with Martin and how their relationship grew and later they made Finn. I'm so happy to know that Martin wasn't always such a cold person. He actually did care for Finn but he had to escape with him because his son and him were in danger. Although I wonder how Finn managed to come out alive at the end and how did he get the bunny hat in his head in the first place. I suppose we don't need to know that much, we know he ended up being in the woods. And we also don't know how Susan lost her memories but perhaps for another day. Seventh one was definitely the one that answered what exactly happened to Mirvena. OMG, she has been in a web-like system that controls the human island. And eight one definitely developed her character more. Her acception to Finn's dangerous life was so sweet of her really and I'm so happy to see that Mirvena realized Finn's a helper just like her. No wonder where his heroism is coming from. And it ended on Susan (Kara) leaving Finn and Jake with her best friend to discover more stuff and Finn and Jake returning to Ooo. Save for still a few unanswered questions, the miniseries delivered big time. I honestly kind of prefer Stakes because that one was more fun and I loved all episodes but this one was more important to me and I'm glad to learn more about what happened to humans. Mushroom War is still unanswered but we'll get there soon.

Grades:

First three episodes - B-/B

Forth to last episode - A+

Overall - A-

HOLY SHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT

ANOTHER MINISERIES AND THIS FEELS LIKE THE MOST AMAZING ONE SO FAR.

The animation and the concept really make me hype for this miniseries.

I can't wait when this comes out.

Oh. My. Glob.

So. Many. Threads. Converging.

Possible conclusion of PB and Ice King's long running arcs + Fern sword.

SEVEN YEARS HAVE LED TO THIS.

I really liked the Elementals miniseries. I thought all the episodes were really good, though the ending really had me with Betty, what happened with LSP, the possibility of the Lich returning, and I'm curious what the rest of the series is gonna be like with Jake...

Spoiler

Now that he looks like his true shapeshifter form.

The designs in Elements were downright gorgeous. I wonder if Magic Betty will redeem herself as she is judged before Normal Man on Mars. (Talk about irony)

Great lumpin send-off for LSP. She's like the goofy side character glue with the longest history.

Recently started watching the show more. I've seen very few episodes from mid season 7-onwards and I think none of the miniseries but i'll see what I can from curiosity.

I haven't seen the finale and probably won't for a long time, but I kind of can't believe Adventure Time is over, as I used to be a big fan of the show. I don't have anything against it, in fact I might want to rewatch the entire series again sometime soon and see if I enjoy it more than I did when I was younger, because I used to love the hell out of the show. It's a show that goes deep with a lot of people, so I wanted to know, what are some of your guys's histories with Adventure Time?

I first saw Adventure Time when I was 9 in Summer 2010. Friends of my parents used to have a mountain house in the mountains and our family and their family would sometimes go up for a weekend and go hiking, etc all that stuff. Anyway, I remember there the sons of my parent's friends, who were around 8 and 6 at the time, were watching the show and decided to watch it with them. When Wedding Bells Thaw was the first episode I ever saw, along with whatever episode comes after it, and I remember really enjoying it. I remember going back to school later that year and mentioning i liked the show, but I remember some of my classmates and my best friend saying they hated it and being well, 9 years old, I decided to say I didn't like it. I wasn't a big TV watcher when I was a kid anyway, so I only saw those two episodes. I remember being really into Phineas and Ferb for like a 2 month period when I was 8 but that was really it.

Anyway, I got into Regular Show around the start of fifth grade a year later and pretty much immediately after got into Adventure Time. I really wasn't any more mature as a person but at that point I knew I like my own shit and people not liking the stuff i'm into is just how it is. I was pretty much obsessed with this show, along with Regular Show and MLP, which the latter I got into at the time about a month before I got into Regular Show and Adventure Time. I remember going as Finn for Halloween that year, and wore the same costume to my first time ever going to a convention later that year in May. As a regular congoer now and someone who has gotten back into cosplaying, I look back at it so fondly for pretty much being my first cosplay. My mom made the costume (really just the hat and I think the backpack) and did a great job. I avidly watched it until around 2013 where interest waned for some reason, among some personal things. Kinda sucks that I haven't seen a new episode since. But yeah, that's pretty much my experience with Adventure Time.

Man, this show ended and now the world feels empty.

I have to admit that I'm not connected to this show as much as I wanted to with other people but the show was definitely something I really enjoyed watching from beginning to end. From its amazing character study to it having one of the greatest worldbuildings I've ever seen in an entertainment. It knew when to make us laugh and make us cry. It redefined cartoons that came after with its amazing story arcs. While the show may not be the first storyline based kids cartoon and did it wonderfully, it totally changed the animation history with it. It had complex themes that all ages can relate to. It had a great mix of sci-fi and fantasy, my favorite combo. It's a show that saved an entire network and it broke my heart to see the network itself losing interest over a show that saved it. But sadly, everything has come to an end. Even Adventure Time couldn't last as long but whatever happens next in its universe will happen, we just won't see it from now on.

The show's finale wasn't perfect and I wasn't exactly impressed with the last season much but the season and the finale itself had satisfying and emotional conclusions, one last trippy ride for the characters, an epic battle and a story that will never end. Even the smallest characters got to have happy endings. Just like the show ended with everyone living their lives, real people get to live their own after the show's end. Goodbye Adventure Time. You'll be missed. ️
