Since then, many mediocre and detestable episodes were spawned in seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Season 4 was okay, Season 5 was bad, Season 6 was terrible, and Seasons 7 and 8 were average. The Lost Mattress, Krusty Towers, Wishing You Well, Dunces and Dragons, Enemy In Law, Shell of a Man, Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy IV, and Whale of a Birthday were all Season 3-leftovers, so I don't see how anyone could go against this season. Internet Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Had few okay episodes, but I think its best was the Lost Mattress, the only of a minority I'd call 'good'. The rest are vomit inducing. Dunces and Dragons WAS okay, but still makes me come down with a rash. Savingprivateryan's comment did highlight some of the not terrible episodes of the season. I know most of people thinks SpongeBob went downhill after this season but I didn't think this show went downhill after season when I was a kid until I see seasons 5. Later I realized that this season is the start of decline because this season had some bad episodes but this season is still great. In my opinion, this season is way better than season 5, 6 and 7 (dark years for SpongeBob) but that season is not great as season 8 and season 9 (so far). This season had some amazing episodes like Have You Seen This Snail, Skill Crane, Krusty Towers, Whale of a Birthday, Wishing You Well, Squidtastic Voyage and The Pink Purloiner but It also had some bad episodes too like Karate Island (I don't hate it because this episode was the #1 on the countdown, I hated because It was boring and SpongeBob was a jerk in this episode), All That Glitters, Wigstruck and The Thing. The rest of this season is good. Also in my opinion a few episodes in this season are overrated. Krusty Towers is the most overrated episode in season 4 and many people including post-movie haters consider this episode as the best post-movie episode. I love this episode too (in fact It's my second favorite of this season) but I don't think this is the best post-movie episode because I kinda didn't like that SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs ended up in Hospital but the rest of this episode is still funny. Also I think Fear of a Krabby Patty episode is overrated too. Even though some post-movie haters don't like this episode, the most of people think this episode is one of the best post-movie episodes.but to be honest, I don't think this episode is one of the best post-movie episodes becuase this episode has some flaws in my opinion and I think this episode rips-off Graveyard Shift a little, which is one of my favorite episodes but I like that episode too. Also I found Have You Seen This Snail a little overrated too but that episode is still a perfect episode for season 4. Overall, this season is great and I rate this season 8/10. I mean, if someone had never seen the show before I would direct them to this season to show what the show is like. Sure, there's bad episodes, but the show in general has bad episodes. It's got my favorite episode (Have You Seen This Snail?) and several great episodes that feel just like Season 1-3 episodes (Krusty Towers, Fear of a Krabby Patty) as well as episodes that are good in their own right. I remembered it being a lot better. I mean the episodes that are Good are usually really good. But some of the okay stuff pulls the season a little bit down. I mean 5 bad episodes is a lot. 10 okay episodes isn't that great either. This season is one of the weirdest of the series. It's like a mix of classic episodes and some really bad ones like All That Glitters and Wigstruck. It's the calm before the storm because the next season isn't really that great. The first half is truly fantastic with many hilarious and memorable episodes that feel like they came straight out of season 3. The second half dips a bit and starts to feel different but it still manages to be really good. Season 4 is very solid and has rightfully been pulled out of the dark age where seasons 6 and 7 rot.
