Was "Kamp Koral" a GREAT idea from a "Spongebob Squarepants" standpoint? Probably not. Did that show at least TRY to do some different things with the characters (especially a good number of them who had never HAD a "Day In The Limelight" episode before)? Of course they did. Has that show now provided a good number of NEW characters who are now officially CANON to the "Spongebob Squarepants" show? As of this special, the answer is now absolutely YES! Thanks to this special, previously "Kamp Koral" only characters such as Mo (the one female jock), Tall Tail (the guy who's face we NEVER get to see), Roa and Rea (the two sea monkeys), Regigilled (Lady Upturn's butler), Nurse Helga, Harvey (the nerd who is friends with Bubble Bass and Kevin, the "Moop" Anchovy, the Trawler Cabin (minus Nosferatu who was already canon) and surprisingly

Spoiler

Elwood, of ALL characters; ends up being the CREEPER who was snatching up everybody!

In any case, it seems that Spongebob and now EVERYBODY are aware of that Sandy DID go to summer camp with the rest of the group as a kid, so THAT mystery is solved! But when all the old crew who went to Kamp Koral are invited for a reunion, they start disappearing one by one, in HORROR movie fashion no less! Kevin can just NOT catch a break! This is the THIRD time he's lost the top of his head in an episode that he's appeared in! I never would've GUESSED that they would HAVE a "Psycho" shower movie reference in this show; let alone that Bubble Bass would be the victim of it!

Harvey FINALLY gets a real "Day In The Limelight" episode, as he ends up being the "Genre Savvy" guy, who at least TRIES to explain the rules of what NOT to do in a HORROR Movie Situation, referencing the rules from "Scream". Rule #1, NEVER go off on your own! Rule #2, if you DO go off on your own; NEVER go off into the woods! Rule #3, if you DO go off into the woods; never, EVER make out (or as he puts it, 'Canoodle') in the woods; or, you will DIE in the woods! Also, NEVER take a shower alone, and NEVER say "I'll be right back!" It's nice to see that Narlene and Nobby WEREN'T the ones responsible for the trouble THIS time, and at least TRIED to help Spongebob and Sandy out of their predicament! I never would've guessed that out of ALL the Trawler campers, Jimmy the Blobfish would end up being the one who would grow up to be QUITE the Looker (although oddly, he thinks that he's HIDEOUS and that he was CUTER when he was young), or that Little Roxie and Big Roxie have a cycle where every three moon cycles, they switch places as to WHO is bigger and who is smaller; so I guess Little Roxie WASN'T being facetious when she said that SHE was the one who was born FIRST! And oddly enough, the Trawler Campers are SUCH "Nightmare Fetishists, they actually INVOKE breaking the "I'll Be Right Back" rule ON purpose, just so they can get CAUGHT! And Harvey becomes SO frustrated by the campers NOT following his rules, he decides to 'Canoodle' with himself ON purpose, just to prove the POINT that he is RIGHT about his rules! Talk about "Skewed Priorities!" True to most "Horror Movie" tropes, the VIRGIN (AKA, Spongebob), ends up lasting the LONGEST in the horror movie! Thank goodness the mystery creeper, had no ill will towards ANY of the campers, and only wanted to bring everybody back together because he had been stuck there for who knows HOW many years; SOMEHOW managing to find a way to survive! The special even has a nice "In Loving Memory of Peter Bennett" card at the end of the special. So, while "Kamp Koral" might not have set the world on fire, it has now set up some nice new characters that I hope we get to see a lot more of in "Spongebob Squarepants" proper! I give this special a 10/10! Enough said, true believers!
