Tonight. supercut

A compilation dedicated to my "favorite" cliche in music. This is mostly for the eyes of music fans like me, but allow me to explain the context of this. For those who are of the Todd Squad, most of us should remember in Todd in the Shadows' "Hey Soul Sister" review where he criticized the song for ending its chorus very predictably with "tonight," condemning it as a form of lazy songwriting. I'm surprised that no one has gone around to prove how common it was for songs to end its chorus with the word "tonight" and yet there are few compilations that exist for the so-called millennial whoop. As I should say, that changes now. After doing some diving, I was surprised to find myself feeling stumped at times in finding some examples for the very topic of this supercut, but there's a reason for that, which I will get to in a moment.

Apologies that it's not in video form because I hardly have any video-making software atm, but the examples listed below have hyperlinks to the clips that I've cropped through YTCropper. This compilation is dedicated to some specific songs that build-up to the word "tonight" like one might expect, or treat "tonight" as the missing link to the end of a stanza, whether it'd be in the chorus, or before it. Keep it mind, because I've listed one of these songs as an example for displaying the cliche, that doesn't mean that I think the song itself is bad. There's quite a lot within the bunch that I really love. Anyways, here are 40 examples that I've managed to find. To make it interesting, I've decided to challenge myself and find examples that don't have "tonight" contained in the song title. Some examples here are strong, but admittedly some aren't so much:
