Steven Universe

The show has some of the highest highs but the biggest disappointments like the Cluster being wasted after some of the best buildup ever created with fucked up fusions, Peridot and Lapis being tossed aside like joke characters, nothing really being done with Amethyst abot the fact that SHE TRIED TO MENTALLY SCAR GREG BY TAUNTING HIM WITH AN IMAGE OF HIS DEAD WIFE AND FACES NO REAL REPURCUSSIONS, and multiple episodes on Jamie the Mailman and Ronaldo....

Things like that and the first 20 or so eps when Steven was just an annoying kid personally make me gag when people list it as their favorite, yes the best eps are deserving but its' way too flawed to even come close.

It's a good show and all but after realizing it, it could have been so much better, in fact it should have been way better. It has so many great ideas and while it executes some of them well, there are still some that could have had more time. And the sad part is that they don't do that much with their characters now. Amethyst's problems with not getting along with the gems are gone too soon, Garnet became nothing but a fusion. Peridot is just there to provide comic relief now, they gave Jasper a time out for a long time after her character just became interesting and they screwed up Bismuth at the end. The only characters that were actually changed are Pearl, Connie, Greg, Steven and maybe Lapis, then again they don't write enough for her too. I'm so glad they actually went somewhere in season 5 but due to past experiences, I'm afraid they'll put the main arc on hold just like how they did with cluster,  whatever Amethyst/Greg thing was, Rose's past, Jasper's past, Zoo, Rubies and Diamonds; so they can have more room for boring episodes of minor characters that don't need development like Onion.

There are still great stuff about this show. This show is rich with complex emotions, optimism, acceptance, support and I love those but It fell into same trap AT did, dragging story arcs and bringing them up again in latter seasons and in between more unnecessary plots of characters that don't deserve their plots and more overshadowing of actual important characters. At the very least, AT tries to be silly that I can enjoy the show more but slice of life aspect of SU can be dull, especially how it doesn't use gem stories' full potential sometimes.

I hope they actually go further with the story arc soon in season 5.

I used to love this series a lot back in 2014 and part of 2015. I'd watch new episodes by my sisters and everything, but then around Season 3 I didn't like how the story was going and I just stopped caring anymore. Has anything even good happened since around early Season 3? Not to mention that the fans are very annoying and need to calm down when the show goes on a hiatus for a few months. Rick and Morty fans had to wait over a year for Season 3 to come, a few month hiatus is nothing. Also, seeing that Rebecca Sugar drew porn art of Ed, Edd & Eddy made me lose some respect for her.,..

Don't hurt me, but at this point I think I enjoy Teen Titans Go more than Steven Universe.

Steven Universe got back on track near the end of season 4 and season 5 started off so strong but I'm still waiting If they'll keep their promise with the main arc. I hope so.

Also yes, hiatuses aren't like Rick and Morty or The Venture Bros but monthly hiatuses are very annoying and it shows how CN doesn't care about SU schedule anymore.

I stopped watching after about Season 3. I was meaning to pick it back up, but apparently it's declining in terms of quality and pacing (they're focusing on that stupid mailman again? He's not even interesting.) So, I didn't bother and haven't for almost a year and a half. It's quite a shame, since I really did love this show. But until I hear it's worth picking back up again, I won't be tuning in.

I wanna say get back in now because they finally got to the main arc but it's unclear if they'll go full with this in season 5. I'll say wait until new episodes arrives and I'll let ya know if it's still worth watching. :funny:

I admit Season 1 is kinda slow and the conclusion to the Cluster arc was a bit of a disappointment, the recent episodes have been really good. With showing more of Homeworld and the Diamonds, and there set up of a new arc they seem to be focusing on. I think they've even improved Lars's character, but we'll see if he remains good or goes back to the way he was. Yeah, the hiatuses are bad, but I think it's still worth watching. And what they showed at the last comic con looks like it'll be great.

A lot of channels do it anyway. Look at Disney XD airing a Star special in July and then not airing new episodes until November.

Too bad it'll be leaked to death by channels such as Master Shadowman and then fans will blame Cartoon Network for not promoting it enough when they'll probably make a promo for the new episodes and air it every single break.
