Mulan is now getting the Disney live-action treatment

Semi-old news for about two months now, but didn't locate a topic for it.  

Currently scheduled to be next on the Disney live action calendar (unless they decide to bump their live action Dumbo, Lion King, or Cruella movies before it).  Definitely don't like the sounds of this one though as they are planning to ditch the songs and ditch Li-Shang entirely for a new guy, who won't be a love interest at all.  Instead, Not Li-Shang will be a rival.

Thoughts? besides not another unnecessary Disney live action movie

Mulan is one of my favorite 2-D Disney movies so, probably not gonna get my hopes up too high. Wonder how much action and fighting they can pack into PG.

The original Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies, and I actually think that it's one of the more appropriate ones to remake in live-action. Not really feeling the hype from this news, but I don't want to count it out just yet.

imo I find it okay that they didn't include songs since this movie is mostly actiony. I mean, it would have helped create a more lighthearted environment/comedy relief at selected times, but oh well.

I've heard the cast will be all Chinese, so that's a good thing.

This is interesting though. She did get some live action in Once Upon a Time, and with a lesbian twist. I wonder if this live action thing will have the same?

It's the Disney of today. Modern-day Disney wouldn't whitewash this, for obvious reasons.

Eh, to me, it would be ruined either way with songs or without the songs. I just wish Disney would leave these animated classics alone because the only reason they're doing this is to get more of that green stuff that they already have a lot of. 

I only give Disney my money if it's Tsum Tsum or Crossy Road related
