26a - Coffee & Doughnuts

One day after their classes were finished, Daphne, Peterpus, Ray and Eellen decided to show Squidward a popular hangout spot in New Kelp City: Kelpin' Donuts. The gang orders some of their popular coffee and kelp doughnuts. Squidward is impressed, feeling like he's been missing out on this place's fantastic food and drinks. After the friends head off to do some work at the New Kelp City Krusty Krab, Squidward stays to order more coffee. He becomes addicted to it, stating he even loves the coffee more than the PMU dining hall's. The coffee allows him to play the clarinet better, excel in classes at PMU, and much more. His friends eventually think he has become a coffee addict, and try to make him stop. He refuses, but when he starts realizing his insanity is driving his friends away, he quits having so much coffee. His friends are relieved he has come to his senses, and Squidward decides to lay off so much of the coffee, even if it helped him in certain areas. The gang decides to get some coffee after a brutal day of classes, but Squidward reasonably declines.

Notes - Second appearance of the New Kelp City Krusty Krab (introduced in "Eugene's Offer"), where Squidward's friends are still working.

26b - Skippin'

Ray makes his way to Professor Shell's class, not in the mood for it today. However, he is stopped by a shady student, introducing himself as "Morty". Morty claims he is an expert at cutting class without being caught, interesting Ray. Morty asks Ray if he'd like to cut class with him, and Ray eagerly agrees. Using one of Morty's secret shortcuts, avoiding the sight of students and teachers, they are able to make their way out off campus. The two get into many misadventures throughout the day, going to random places throughout New Kelp City. However, after being questioned by an officer on if they should be at school, they have to escape the officer. They are able to lose him, and make their way back to campus just as Shell's class ends. The two part ways, hoping they can do this again sometime.

27a - It's Called "Gruzz" (Part 1)

After coming into a slight bit of money, thanks to a refund check from the school, Squidward decides it's about time to do something nice for himself. Sizing himself up in the mirror, he comes to the startling realization that what he really needs in his life right now... is absolutely nothing. His life is great! It was silly of him to ever think otherwise! Not wanting to appear destitute, though, he decides to purchase a new shirt - this one, a slightly darker shade of brown. 

As he strolls around campus, he thinks he's looking, to put it subtly, fresh to death. However, soon he realizes that no one is actually paying attention to him anymore than normal. Not to be perturbed, Squidward goes around and asks Daphne, Eellen, Ray, and Peterpus point-blank if they notice anything particularly "swanky" about him. They, to put it subtly, don't. Feeling bummed, he slowly meanders through the campus, and eventually comes to the quad. It's here that he notices everyone has flocked and gathered around Yark, a once-outcast turned positively popular. 

Squidward quietly sneaks around the crowd and slithers his way up a nearby tree, trying to figure out what changed. At once, he noticed: Yark changed his style. Usually preferring too-tight mustard yellow button-downs, chinos tucked into his tube socks, and sandals, he now sports a fashionable tank top/slightly tilted flat-brim hat combo with flower shorts. Ever the egoist, Squidward decides, once and for all, he needs to change up his look - and not only that, but he knows he needs to call it something, too. Something catchy. Something that rolls off the tongue. He thinks for a moment, and then, just like that, he has it - it comes from his lips so gently, so softly, almost as if it were a word made to be said. He utters the name. He sends shivers up his own spine. He knows he stumbled onto something big. He knows he stumbled onto a style all its own. He knows he stumbled onto... "gruzz".

27b - It's Called "Gruzz" (Part 2)

The following day, after a shopping spree at Anchor & Algae, Squidward dons his new digs and bursts out of his room. Outfitted with a zebra-stripped shirt, bright red pants with pinstripes, orange sunglasses with blue lenses, blue shoes, and a brown scarf (the same color brown as his once-signature brown shirt), Squidward swaggers onto the scene. Down the halls, through the courtyard, in the classrooms, students and faculty alike are bewildered at this new, fashionable - and somehow more instantaneously cooler - Squidward. Squidward sits down at his usual lunch spot, and immediately his peers come to him. Taking pictures, asking for autographs, clamoring for more, falling as his feet, grabbing at his face. He'd be the talk of the town if the town wasn't speechless. He's questioned about this new look - what he calls it. It needs to have a signature name. Squidward, tilting his glasses slightly down, peering over his frames, smirks, and whispers a single word: "Gruzz". From the back of the crowd, Yark stands there, and quietly shuffles off. As he passes, a few students yell at him to move out of the way.

A few days pass, and Squidward's stock is on the rise. His newfound sense of fashion has translated well to his self-esteem - once a cranky curmudgeon, he's now, as he says, "Gruzz". As he saunters, his own fashion sense turns into a way of life. Gruzz is no longer just about how you look - it's about how you carry yourself, it's about how you feel about yourself, it's about, to put it subtly, yourself. As this transformation begins to take place, he notices Yark - alone, probably cold, back to his old sense of fashion. Squidward can't stand for this - if Gruzz is about anything, above all else, it's about knowing what YOU can do to increase YOUR happiness. And for Squidward? Helping Yark would do just that.

In the dead of night, Squidward knocks on Yark's door. Upon opening, in an instant, Squidward is inside. He wears his old outfit, and carries a bag in his hand. He drops it in front of Yark. He tells him he needs to learn to be Gruzz. Not waiting to hear Yark say anything else, Squidward slinks back out of the door. The next day, while Squidward is sitting at his usual bench, he hears a clamor. An uproar. He turns his head, and sees the new Gruzz: Yark. Braving the crowds, Yark makes it to Squidward's bench, sits down next to him, and thanks him for his clothes, his life style, and his everything. Squidward eats a bite of his sandwich, and says "that's what Gruzz is all about". As he does, the bench ascends - slowly at first, and then getting ever faster. Below them, the crowd is gathered, frantically shouting - cheering. They've witnessed something magical these past few days, and it's a magical something they won't soon forget.

28a - Peterpus in Love

It's Valentine's Day, and love is in the air. Unfortunately, Squidward, Ray, Eellen and Daphne are all single. But lucky for Peterpus, he is still dating Squidina. Unfortunately again, Peterpus comes to a sudden realization: He doesn't actually know how to date. Peterpus doesn't want to make a bad impression on her, so he asks Squidward for dating advice. Squidward is confused, since Peterpus was able to talk to her fine before, but Peterpus admits he doesn't know where to go from after the first date. Squidward, even though he isn't in the dating scene, decides to help him out to show deep down, he isn't a total jerk. The two go through a Rocky training montage, and Peterpus is able to win Squidina's heart with a delicious box of chocolates, flowers, and more. Peterpus gives Squidward a thumbs up, as he enjoys his night with Squidina.

28b - The Grand Old Squid of York

Squidward is still doing a pretty mediocre job at his clarinet skills, despite months of classes. Professor Shell says he is a "mediocre clarinet player", much to his annoyance. Squidward accepts maybe he just sucks at the clarinet, and should try something different. Eellen encourages him to not give up however, admitting she wasn't the best at the clarinet at first either. Squidward decides to officially give up on playing the clarinet, which he tosses into a trashcan in the class, much to Eellen's dismay. The next day, Squidward decides to start playing the piano. Unfortunately, he sucks at that too, making horrific sounds with the keys. His classmates laugh except for Eellen and Peterpus. In his apartment, he keeps trying to practice, but Ray is annoyed, admitting he prefers the clarinet playing. Eellen comes over to help Squidward out, but Squidward still can't play the piano well. Eellen suggests maybe he should just go back to the clarinet, and that he shouldn't abandon his dreams. However, something strange happens. As Squidward keeps angrily playing the piano... he actually gets somewhat better at playing it. Ray stops covering his ears, finding the notes relaxing. Eellen is also surprised, as is Professor Shell when Squidward plays the piano for class the following day. Shell is extremely impressed, offering Squidward a spot at playing piano for PMU shows. Squidward gives it some thought, when Eellen is seen picking his old clarinet out of the trashcan. Squidward actually misses his clarinet, and declines the offer. Although he was surprisingly okay at the piano, Eellen made him realize playing the clarinet is still his dream, even if it will take a long time to succeed at.

29a. Kappa Squidma

When Headmistress Wobbegong catches James-Sebastian Seahorse III and other members of Kappa Finma hazing a pledge, she threatens to shut their fraternity down unless they kick James-Sebastian out and replace him with a president of her choice. She ends up deciding on Squidward because she knows he'll hate running Kappa Finma as much as Kappa FInma will hate having him in charge, a combination she believes will prove most entertaining. She turns out to be right, as Squidward messes up at every turn as Kappa Finma's president. The members of Kappa Finma eventually show up at Wobbegong's office to beg her to let them make James-Sebastian president again, and while she doesn't allow that, she does allow them to replace Squidward with Ray, a compromise all of them, including Squidward, happily agree to.

Notes: First appearance of James-Sebastian Seahorse III and Kappa Finma since "Welcome to the Fin Fraternity" in episode seven.

29b. Bare Necessities

Squidward and Peterpus are learning about figure drawing in art class and are excited to draw an actual model for the first time instead of just each other. The model walks into the classroom wearing a robe, and after sitting down on a stool, she takes the robe off, revealing nothing underneath, to Peterpus' horror and Squidward's delight. Though Squidward eagerly begins the drawing, Peterpus is unable to look at the model for more than three seconds. He eventually goes to the professor telling him that he's uncomfortable drawing a nude model, and the professor, annoyed, tells Peterpus that if he doesn't do the assignment, the professor will fail him. Peterpus reluctantly starts the drawing, but he's still unable to look at the model for too long, so he has Squidward give him detailed descriptions as he draws based on those.

30A -  Squidward & Squilliam

Squidward and his gang were hanging out one day, when Ray told them that Squilliam is visiting New Kelp City again. Squidward is shocked upon hearing this, so Squidward decide to visit his fancy place. Squilliam greets him surprisingly decently, stating he is only here to host a musical event at New Kelp City's famous hall. Squilliam decides to offer Squidward a spot at the show, to which Squidward agrees, hoping for fame. For entertainment, Squidward and Squilliam decide to do series of challenges. In the end, after the audience applauds both of their performances, the two realize there's no point in being jerks to each other, so they end on friendlier terms than usual.

30B - Eellen vs. Magic

Eellen is bored one day, when she hears an odd noise outside. She curiously goes out to see what's going on. She meets Darren, a pretty cool guy who tells her about a magic item he has to find, and requests her help. Eellen is interested, and happily accepts his offer. As they look everywhere, Eellen notices a shadowy figure. Darren notices the figure has the item he's looking for, so they give chase. Upon catching him, Eellen realizes the item is a magic wand. The figure reveals himself to be a new super villain in New Kelp City named Aaron, who stole a powerful magic wand that Darren wanted to get back. Eellen is able to snatch it from him, but Darren warns her that the wand can be dangerous. She uses a blast from it to send Aaron flying faraway, who vows to return. Eellen decide to keep the wand, so no other weirdos can get it. Darren wishes her best of luck with the wand, and he goes off somewhere.

-The New Kelp City Krusty Krab appears during Darren and Eellen's search.

31a - The Sea Turtle's Story

A sea turtle named Greg Shell was once swimming in the ocean, the sea turtle liked playing around in the sun with his friends when suddenly, he saw a shark named "Helga" that took all his friends captive. Many years later, Professor Shell told his students the story out of boredom and they wondered where his friends ended up. It turns out his friends were later saved by someone named Squid Man who dove deep into the ocean to save them. Squid Man was hailed as a hero by many villagers back home. Greg became good friends with Squid Man after this event and they even went out for dinner as a thanks for everything he's done for everyone. Squid Man really enjoyed the meal, especially the spaghetti since it had lots of sauce which he liked. Greg never saw Squid Man again after this, but hopes he returns one day. Squidward just yawns, wondering what the point of the boring story was.

Notes: Most of this episode is told from Professor Shell's point of view.

Trivia: It seems implied that Helga and Squid Man might be past versions of Wobbegong and Squidward.

31b - Scales!

Mrs. Hillary Scales has returned to PMU, seeking revenge on Squidward and friends for getting her fired. Wobbegong has given her a second chance, as she teaches a different class. However, through an elaborate scheme, she gets Professor Shell fired. Squidward and friends aren't very happy about this, so they work together with Shell to get her fired, and eventually do so. Wobbegong says this time Scales will never come back, as she angrily vows revenge. Shell gets his class back, as the students are happy with that.

32a - Electorium

Squidward's ego drives him to run for Student Body President, but realizes quickly that he's going to be running against Ray. Determined to win, even if it means playing dirty, he enlists the help of a very reluctant Headmistress Wobblegong to campaign for him, as long as he files her papers for the next 6 months. However, in retaliation, Ray enlists the help of one of New Kelp City's biggest politicians: Old SpongeBernie Seanders, who's wild campainging technique and very very liberal views result in one of the wildest elections PMU has ever seen. When SpongeBernie dies in the middle of a speech on election day, Squidward and Ray reconcile and drop out of the race in the name of political unity and brotherhood. However, with both candidates out of the race, the win automatically goes to Eelen by default, who promises free seachicken for everyone! 

Trivia: The Russian makes a very small cameo in this episode. Wink wink.

-Eelen becomes PMU's Student Body President following this episode.

32b - Girls Night (Among Other Things)

Eellen and Daphne decide it's high time for a GIRLS NIGHT, GIRL! Helga buys the reefer, Daphne gets the ice cream, and they plan to have a dope night downtown. At the same time, Squidward has a women's studies test in Mr. Swordfish's class the next morning, so he and Peterpus decide to spy on the girls and try to have their own fun. Ray also has the same test, so he follows Wobblegong home to see what girls are really like. Squidward and Peterpus end up spying until the early hours of the morning, while Eellen and Daphne bond in the bars. Meanwhile, Wobblegong finds Ray hiding in her closet taking notes, and chases him all the way back to campus. The next day, the boys all collectively fail the test because they didn't get a good night's sleep. 

Notes: 8 hours of sleep a night is instrumental in maintaining a healthy lifestyle!

Trivia: An underwater version of the rapper Future cameos, giving the reefer to Eellen.

33a - Ray's New Ride

One day, Ray is extremely happy. He's finally stocked up enough money to buy himself a brand new boatmobile: The Bass Blaster 4000. He shows it by driving it to PMU, making many fellow students on campus jealous. He is able to give Squidward, Eellen, Daphne, and Peterpus free rides as a result, who are very grateful. However, after leaving his last class, Ray's ride gets some attention from Brad, one of the most arrogant and cockiest students at PMU. He challenges Ray to a boat race. Ray's friends cheer for him, as the race is tense. Unfortunately, Ray gets too ahead of himself, and accidentally crashes the boat, making Brad the winner. Even worse, Ray doesn't have any proper coverages for the boatmobile's damages, so the wreckage of the boat is taken away. Ray is upset, but his friends cheer him up, promising someday he can get another boat, provided student debt doesn't get in the way.

Notes: There are several Speed Racer references during Ray and Brad's race.

Trivia: Morty (from "Skippin'") makes a cameo on campus.

33b - Sounds of Mystery

One day, Squidward's trusty clarinet goes missing. He is not very amused, and searches every inch of PMU to find the sneaky clarinet. Eellen, Daphne, Peterpus, and Ray help in his search, as they have no luck. Their search takes them to other places throughout New Kelp City. They regroup back outside PMU, and they discover other instruments of students have mysteriously gone missing. Daphne suggests that if a thief is loose on campus, they bait the thief out. The gang agrees, and they make a Scooby-Doo style trap using one of Professor Shell's classroom instruments. The mysterious thief takes the bait, and is caught in the net. Daphne unmasks the thief to reveal the culprit is the Sneaky Hermit, one of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's greatest enemies. He got bored and wanted to rob this university. Squidward slaps him across the face, and takes his beloved clarinet back. The cops are called, taking Sneaky Hermit away, who vows revenge on the meddling kids. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy themselves appear at the end, stating they finally tracked the Sneaky Hermit, but are too late when they see him being arrested. Both are disappointed, but Mermaid Man smells good food coming from the university's cafeteria. He yells "To the cafeteria...AWAY!", as the two go inside.

34a. Squidward and Bernstein

A new student has arrived on the campus of PMU, and he went by the name of Bernstein. Interestingly enough, he was an octopus much like Squidward and Peterpus. Squidward decides to converse with him, to see if he’s willing to be friends with him, Peterpus, and Eeleen. Not only does Squidward form a friendship with Bernstein, but they got a lot in common: they have a love for smooth jazz, fine arts, and have an irrational hatred of undersea sponges. Squidward’s friendship with Bernstein went smoothly until Peterpus and Eeelen caught eye of Bernstein talking negatively about them behind their backs. This prompts for the both of them to ensure Squidward that Bernstein has been gossiping about them. Of course, Squidward still gets along with his new friend. It was a matter of time until Bernstein convinces Squidward to tell him things he’s never told any one of his other friends. After investigating on Bernstein and his school records, Peterpus and Eeleen tells Squidward that Bernstein has had a record of being dropped from various schools due to his behavior in spreading rumors about other students, then warning Squidward that his new friend could do the same. Squidward doesn’t believe him until he catches Bernstein at the exact moment when he talks with Peterpus and Eeelen about Squidward. Before Bernstein was going to talk about some of Squidward’s secrets, his friend rushes over to him and tells him to stop talking. Thereafter, Squidward then tells Bernstein about why Peterpus and Eeleen are two of his greatest acquaintances and that he can still be his friend if he stops using the lives of students for his sick kicks. Bernstein thought hard about this offer at first, but he then gets notified that he got expelled from PMU because of his behavior. And so Bernstein heads off to another college, never to be missed.

34b. West Soap Story

It was a fine day in Pacific Maritime University. It was the day the school was celebrating the founding of New Kelp City. All of a sudden, a bubble appeared from the source of the hand soap dispenser as the Headmistress points flippers over to a student in the background, scolding him. Squidward then remembers that bubbles are outlawed in New Kelp City, but begs to know why it’s such. Peterpus gives himself the pleasure to tell the story to Squidward of when the Bubble Poppin’ Boys came to hate bubbles and felt that they were a danger in the city. They were trying to get civilians to stop making bubbles, but were being faced by a rival gang that supports bubbles and the act of bubble-blowing. However, after a series of singing and dancing, the nice guys finished last. While the Bubble Poppin’ Boys were driven out of NKC, bubbles were still outlawed since the disappearance of Mayor CheeseHead. Squidward finds this petty and heads straight to Wobbegong’s office as he questions how anyone in the PMU campus could be afraid of a mere bubble. Squidward gives the background student a bail from punishment, but Wobbegong decides to temporarily arrange Squidward into a class filled with only the most irregular group of students: The Bubble Blowin’ Boys, or as some sources call them: “bubble blowing babies.” Squidward instantly tries to convince them that he doesn’t belong here, and after a couple weeks after getting out his temporary punishment does he realize that he became a part of their family. Squidward had the thought of criticizing bubbles in general, but ends up seeing the significance in them and eventually decides to convince the PMU campus that all parts of the ocean need bubbles, for resources such as bubble baths, drinking boba tea, or that it’s just because fish can’t move around without making bubbles. The entire campus hears Squid’s words, but Wobbegong still has some regulations against the use of bubbles on university grounds. After that little attempt in trying to change NKC history, Squidward runs into the Bubble Blowin’ Boys again and tells him that he honestly doesn’t want to see a bubble anywhere on PMU ever again. The guidelines also prompt for the BBBs to follow them, but since they still doubt them, they otherwise maintain doing it in a secretive fashion, hence that they’re now called the Secretive Bubble Blowin’ Boys.

35a. Bar-B-Que Episode

SpongeBob and Patrick, on a whim, decide to go visit Squidward in New Kelp City. Taking Gary along and with Patrick driving a rented boat, they are detoured by a commune of punkish bumpkins: the Barnacle Surfers, who invite the trio to a "family-style BBQ" at their home in an abandoned zoo. While Gibby pours Sponge and Pat glasses of "Sea Urchin Tea" laced with sauce, Paul lures Gary to a makeshift storage shack with Snail-Po, since the Surfers don't like animals interrupting mealtime....what, did you honestly think they were gonna cook our favorite little mollusk? A bit later, some sea beef, or so it is called, is served. A ravenous SpongeBob, still affected by the Sea Urchin Tea, devours the meal and goes off to find Gary. What he finds instead are the Barnacle Surfers, who are performing their song Fast in one of their famous live shows:

SpongeBob screams as Kathleen presses his face against a hot iron...only to reveal that it's a nightmare, with SpongeBob and Patrick now living in the abandoned zoo, served sea beef three times a day by the Barnacle Surfers...

...except THAT is revealed to be a nightmare as well, caused by expired seahorse milk. SpongeBob decides that Squidward might not want a visit after all, and goes back to sleep, and the last shot is of the Barnacle Surfers laughing madly.

-This episode is a parody of the 1988 short film Bar-B-Que Movie starring the Butthole Surfers in a twisted Texas Chain Saw Massacre parody. 

-Sauce (from "Jellyspotting") makes an appearance here.

-Second appearance of the Barnacle Surfers, who are revealed to (at least in SpongeBob's nightmare) live in an abandoned zoo outside of Bikini Bottom.

35b. Coral as Ice

Squidward, while browsing for Kelpy G records in a store, encounters washed-up rapper MC Hammershark, who now does religious talk radio and has retired from the music business. Squidward, deciding to see if Hammershark still has his stuff, decides to enter him in a rap battle. As expected, Hammershark does poorly and is booed as "old hat". Not wanting to press the matter any further, Squidward decides to leave him alone. Hammershark, noticing that Squidward enjoys smooth jazz, decides that he'll try out the genre, now billing himself Stanley Kirk, his real name. The last scene is of Squidward reading the news and seeing Stanley now has a record deal.

36a. Extracurricular is for Nerds

Daphne gets her grades back from the semester when suddenly seeing something, she gets a D- in the class she enrolled in last, astronomy. She tries to ask her teacher if it was a mistake but he flat out tells her no. Heartbroken and very angry, she goes to Squidward and the gang for moral support.  Daphne says she knew it would be a bad idea, trying to juggle too many hard classes. From this decides then it might be better for her to pack her things and leave the university. They try to stop her, but she is persistent on leaving over just one bad grade. Squidward not wanting to lose his friend (and the person who helps his grades not plummet into an oblivion) thought of a fast idea. He told her he actually knew of someone who had been to the moon countless of times and could help her with her grade. Excited, Daphne, Ray, Eellen, Peterpus and Squidward leave the campus for the rest of their free day and take a bus to Bikini Bottom. They're surprised to learn while arriving at an underwater treedome Squidward is friends with a local Bikini Bottomite scientific genius, named Sandy Cheeks. She invites them in, telling Squidward it's good to see him after so long and that SpongeBob has been constantly calling the "number" Squidward gave him before he left so that SpongeBob could still feel apart of his life. Squidward nervously laughs it off and whispers if he's here right now or something. (Which of course he wasn't.)

Sandy and Daphne talk for a little bit, while Squidward's friends look around in awe. Ray looks around in boredom and decides to go into Sandy's treedome against Peterpus's better judgement. Inside, Ray just looks around hoping to find something interesting or whatever. Eellen accidentally leans on a lamp post and the ground underneath her swipes away as she falls down. The others race to the location she was just at and from below, Eellen tells them to come down here because in her own words, "there's so much cool stuff". Peterpus tries to tell them not to but giving up Squidward and Ray do it anyways. Inside is a large hall of Sandy's inventions as far as the eye can see. From a submarine meant to go inside bodies to a nutuccino machine making lovely peanut and other nut beverages. They finally get to Sandy's rocket. Ray dares Squidward to go inside of it, betting that he won't. Out of pure spite, Squidward goes inside but Eellen messes with the buttons like wild. This of course launches the rocket, breaking Sandy's house and treedome tremendously into little tiny bite sized pieces. The four of them spend the rest of the semester up in space where they teach each other like they were still at the university. But the good news was that getting tutored from Sandy actually helped Daphne to raise her grade to a A+.

- While up on the moon, Squidward comes around some alien cat named Sir Dudley Ding Dong and has adventures with him... which was probably just mental hallucinations from a lack of water. 

 

36b. The Price of a Messiah

One day in history class with all his friends, they start a new chapter that surprises Squidward. It's a whole month's lesson about the brief reign of the worst authority figure to ever come out of New Kelp City, Mayor CheeseHead BrownPants. At first Squidward laughs it off, seeing how it's history dedicated to making the "all optimistic and do no wrong" SpongeBob look bad from when he had amnesia and destroyed the town with too many bubbles. He finds out during the lesson that the city itself even happens to have a Anti-CheeseHead Awareness March where they get together wearing outfits with crossed out cheese related food on them and paint their faces the city's flag. They walk around the city holding up angry banners and making long, boring speeches. But as they get deeper into the lesson, Squidward realizes he was unnamed but mentioned as the limo driver who took CheeseHead away from the city. He hoped his secret wouldn't be found out, in case of global rioting him out of the university and city. Wanting to let it all out to someone though, he confines to the only person he would be able to trust, Peterpus. Peterpus though being shocked, understands and promises to keep it a secret. During the March week, Squidward helps out with decorating the university in cheese with slashes across them. He wonders why the town makes such an effort to disdain their taste for something, but doesn't question it.

He instead sends pictures to SpongeBob (and then changing his number again so that the sponge wouldn't be able to contact him later) of everything, in hoping to ruin his perfect day in that he's hated so much there. SpongeBob sends back happy selfies, saying how wonderful that even despite them hating him, he's such a big deal and even gets a week dedicated to his disdain. This makes Squidward annoyed from SpongeBob's twisted positive outlook but before he can put away his phone, Ray comes up and snatches it away. He wonders why Squidward's contact in his phone looks so much like CheeseHead and in a nervous sweat, Squidward tries to come up with excuses. But Ray shares his findings with other people and they start growing in anger. Squidward finally confesses that he was the limo driver who took CheeseHead away some years ago and he may have called him a friend but Squidward definitely didn't think of him that way. Squidward was prepared for the worst, possibly by people throwing cheese at him. But it a slow clap started as the students call him a savior. They lift up the confused former cashier and celebrate while the teachers join in. 

Eventually even the local news takes notice of the man who drove the evil mayor away from their city forever.  While having the day off (which the university gladly gave the hero), Squidward basks in the limelight of several reporters and fans. Eventually he gets his own parade that inflates his ego even more so. His friends cheer (minus Ray) from a distance as he waves up top of a machine parade float that has SpongeBob blowing bubbles into his eyes and his eyes getting blood red from the pain. The octopus was at a lost for words, he never knew that he would be a hero to anyone but himself for hating that porous freak. But now they were all praising his name and kissing the ground he walked on. He waved on the crowd and felt the love but suddenly the float came to a halting stop, the crowds gasped in horror and the marching band sharply cut off their instruments. Squidward looked in the most frightened way at the yellow cheese waving in front of him. Before Squidward could speak up, SpongeBob explained that when he heard Squidward become a big shot, he had to "see his most bestest friend in person!" Even more at a lost of words, the audience started to talk among themselves giving Squidward evil stares. They mobbed up and started to chase both Squidward and SpongeBob. While hiding in an alley (even the stray snails there slithered away in disgust) SpongeBob comments that this is quite the welcome back reaction to his presence. Squidward gets so angry, he cannot believe in all of this SpongeBob still remains so positive. Even after destroying the only time in Squidward's life when he felt completely happy. In Squidward's surprise, SpongeBob isn't smiling at first and sees the frycook in deep thought. He says that he knows they hate him and knows Squidward was popular for getting rid of him. He just wanted to see Squidward face-to-face one last time before Squidward would be too busy as a big-shot to ever see him again. He knows what it's like to be loved in the city but reminds him to be careful, this place seemed to change its' mood very often. SpongeBob then apologies sincerely before walking off. Leaving only a gift behind in Squidward's lap. When the crowd catches up to Squidward a few minutes later, he thinks they're gonna hurt him. But it turns out they applaud and hoist him up on their shoulders for getting rid of the sponge again. Somehow forgiving his deed of being friends with their most hated foe. But the crowd notice from a city clock that the march week was officially over, so they dropped Squidward and went on with their day-to-day lives. 

Back in Squidward's dorm, he sits on his bed trying to reflect everything that had happen. He quickly glances at the unopened gift on his nightstand and picks it up. When it was unwrapped, what inside was SpongeBob's old mayor hat.

"You're right SpongeBob... this city does seem to sway moods. Even worse than Bikini Bottom." Squidward chuckled and then sent one last text message to an ex-mayor before heading off to bed.

37a. Easter (Part 1)
Squidward and Peterpus decide to help run PMU's Easter Egg Hunt for a nearby grade school. Daphne, who is running the entire thing, assigns the two to paint all three hundred eggs with specific colors. Squidward and Peterpus decide to camp out in the Common Room to complete the task, but the two goof off the entire time and eventually fall asleep before finishing. The next morning, Daphne arrives to check their progress and is angered that they have only finished one hundred eggs. With the egg hunt drawing near, Squidward, Peterpus, and Daphne recruit Eellen and Ray to help finish the eggs, with the promise that Squidward and Peterpus will do all of their homework for the next month.

Trivia:

- Squidward can be seen wearing a shirt that says 'Krusty Krab' at one point in the episode.

- Goof: One of the eggs is color blue and red, even though the rest are colored yellow and pink like Daphne wanted.

37b. Easter (Part 2)
During the Easter Egg Hunt, Daphne notices that one of the fourth grade kids has gone missing from the field. Frantic that this incident will be discovered by the boy's teachers or by Wobbegong, Daphne sends Squidward, Peterpus, Ray, and Eellen on a manhunt for the boy throughout the campus. The four split up, with Squidward and Peterpus eventually finding the boy (Harry Shellman) hiding in a bathroom. Harry tells them that his parents died on Easter and that he hates the holiday. Squidward and Peterpus give him advice and encourage him to talk about his issues with his school faculty. Squidward and Peterpus return Harry to the field, where they are thanked by Daphne. Daphne admits that she has worked them too hard in her attempts to make everything perfect and apologizes.

Trivia:

- The school that the children come from is referred to as 'Ernest Borgnine Elementary'.

- Goof: At one point, Daphne's hair is wavy, even though it is straight during the rest of the episode.

38a. Squiddy Yo Ho Ho

One day, Squidward, Eellen, Ray, Peterpus, and Daphne explore an amusement park on their day off. They notice a peculiar ride, a pirate ship named "Captain General's Stormy Ride". The gang decides to explore it, entering the ship. Captain General appears, who is an old, creepy pirate fish. He gives out a sinister laugh, welcoming them to his ride. Squidward asks where the amusement is, and Captain General replies there will be amusement, as they get to be a part of his crew. This confuses the gang, and the ship sails off out of the amusement park, confusing everyone. Captain General reveals he is actually a real, criminal pirate who was using this amusement park as a front, waiting for someone to visit his "ride". He's been looking for a new crew, and says the kids will be it. They try to leave, but look at Pacific Maritime University down below them. Captain General forces them to scrub the decks and do other strange tasks on the ship, as they try to think of a plan to escape. Peterpus devises a clever scheme, and the gang goes along with it. They manage to trap Captain General, locking him in a closet. Squidward takes the wheel, but realizes something: He has no clue how to drive a pirate ship. Due to his poor skills, everyone braces for impact, as it crashes into the ground below. The gang emerges safely and walks away, hoping to forget this weird tale. However, Captain General bursts out of the debris, and vows revenge on the kids from the distance.

38b. Funny Music Video

One day, Professor Shell assigns his students to make a music video in a group. Squidward, Ray, Eellen, Peterpus, and Daphne all agree, as they get to work on what to do for their video. They try a variety of different genres, including: action, mystery, romance, suspense, and comedy. After some nautical nonsense, and arguments, in the end, they blend all of the genres together. Their finished product is shown to the class, surprising them all. Professor Shell is impressed, giving them all passing grades.

Trivia: Mr. Swordfish makes a cameo.

Had this thought in the back of my mind if I was ever offered the opportunity to guest write again and then Jjs offered me the chance...and then I had computer problems that delayed this for almost two months...and then it got resolved.  So now, without any more delays, I present to you a special episode of Squid.  This is being promoted as

THE TV.COM TROPES

39A. Merry Halloeastergroundhogpatricksarbormemorialgiving Day on the 4th of July

After coming home from the winter holidays, Squidward wishes that every day was a holiday before falling straight to sleep.  When Squidward wakes up the next day, it's New Years Day.  Squidward decides to ring in the new year by going to a party at Peterpus's dorm room with his friends. After a long night of doing some heavy partying, Squidward wakes up to find out that it's Groundhogs Day.  And so on and so forth, Squidward ends up getting stuck in an alternate time loop where he is celebrating holiday after holiday after holiday with no actual storyline progression towards his adventures at Pacific Maritime University.  To break this holiday curse, Squidward must learn how to accept the fact that celebrating the holidays doesn't provide an interesting story.  On Arbor Day, Squidward finally breaks the fourth wall at Peterpus's Arbor Day celebration that nothing is happening and that this episode has been a complete waste of everyone's time.

39B.  The Crossover Episode

Thinking that Squidward finally broke out of the alternate time loop, he wakes up the next morning to find out that he is on a cruise ship.  Squidward suddenly notices that SpongeBob and Patrick are acting like fools of themselves once more.  This time causing total chaos to a bunch of random travelers, including Squidward's friends.  Peterpus informs Squidward that they should go tell the ship's captain, who turns out to be Mr. Krabs because it's his ship the Krusty Kruise.  After fainting at the sight of his old boss, Squidward wakes up again.  This time, he's at an old road trip stand where they plan road trips.  Squidward walks in to find Fred Rechid offering to take him on a road trip to anywhere he wants to go.  Squidward asks Fred to take him on a road trip back to Pacific Maritime University, which Fred gives him a boat to head out on his way.  Squidward drives the boat and all of a sudden ends up in Koralwood where a bunch of fictional singers force him to compete on Underwater Idol to proceed on his way.  Squidward wins the show with his rendition of "Carry on my Wayward Son" as he then proceeds to run past all the screaming fansquids.  Squidward then appears in Star City that is still continuing to live on limbo after nearly ten years of existing.  Wondering what the point of all these shameless promotions of other alternate universes, he then realizes he's in a video game program called Spongecraft.  To escape this endless recycling of spin-offs of yesteryear, Squidward meets a young lad named Alvin who tells him that to escape into his own dimension, he has to complete a series of side quests.  After completing a montage of related side quests, Squidward is then exported back to Pacific Maritime University.  After being happy to escape this endless hell of nonsense, he then goes to his music theory class.  Only to see a new student appear named Naomi who moved here from Bikini Top.  Squidward screams no while Naomi texts her drug dealer on her iFishPhone.

40a. Strange Exchange

One day, PMU gets a brand new exchange student: Hans Gutenberg. He hails from the faraway land of Deutschaqua. As part of the foreign exchange program, PMU sends one of their best students to Deutschaqua: Squidward Tentacles. Squidward is confused, and next he thing he knows, he is sitting in class at a Deutschaqua school. Whacky hijinks ensue, as he is unstable to understand a word there for the most part. Meanwhile, Hans fits in nicely, becoming admired by many. He flirts with Daphne and Eellen, while Ray and Peterpus find him pretty cool. He is even a pretty good football player, becoming a valuable asset to the team. Unfortunately, poor Squidward is not having a particularly fun time where he's at. He struggles in subjects, but through the day, he actually starts to learn and appreciate more about Deutschaqua. Eventually, their exchange comes to a close. Everyone at PMU says they'll miss Hans, and he promises to return one day in the distant future. He waves farewell, boarding a bus, which leaves. Another bus appears with Squidward walking out. While the gang will miss Hans, they are glad to have Squidward back.

Trivia: 

-Deutschaqua is a reference to Deutschland / Germany.

-Brad (from "Ray's New Ride") makes a cameo.

40b. Plankton's Plot

One day, Plankton, who has grown bored of attempting at stealing the formula in Bikini Bottom, decides to take a trip to New Kelp City. He sets up his own Chum Bucket there, across from the New Kelp City Krusty Krab. Unfortunately, he once again gets no customers, angering him. He realizes Krabs has expanded his business to New Kelp City, so he decides to take advantage of this. Noticing Mr. Krabs isn't there, or SpongeBob, or that weird cashier guy, he plots to steal the formula from here! Peterpus, Eellen, Daphne, and Ray are working there, helping customers out. Plankton walks in with a funny face, fedora, and cool trenchcoat, approaching the cashier. He yells from the bottom, as Daphne looks around, confused. He hops up, as she gasps upon seeing Plankton. Plankton explains he is a "food critic' of sorts, and would like to order a Krabby Patty. Not suspecting a thing, she places the order, and tells Peterpus to make it amazing. Plankton's order is eventually finished, as he laughs, taking it away. He plans to analyze the contents of the sandwich with his machinery. He begins examining it, and discovers the entire sandwich is made of horse radish. He is confused, as Squidward walks in, laughing. He reveals that he knew Plankton was the food critic the whole time, watching from a table, so he made Peterpus make a terrible sandwich. Plankton vows revenge, powering up a death laser. Squidward runs away, and trips over the wire, unplugging it. Plankton gasps, as Squidward runs out, and the Chum Bucket explodes. Plankton is sent flying off like a rocket through the sky, vowing to return. Or not, who knows.

Trivia: Fifth time the NKC Krusty Krab is seen in Season 2.

One day, Squidward finds out that his old flame, Squilvia, has just enrolled into PMU after being awkwardly introduced to her in one of his classes by Mr. Shell. They both agree on remaining just friends and Squidward decides to take her to the coffee shop to meet his friends in order to get her more acquainted. Daphne and Eellen both take a liking to her and they soon find out that her and Squidward used to be a thing. Daphne later tries to pry some more info on their backstory from him, but Squidward, wanting to put his past with Squilvia behind him, isn't amused by their attempts and insists that he was the one who dumped her, along with saying other less than flattering things. Later in their dorm, Ray jokes about asking Squilvia out to Peterpus, since she's single, but Squidward bluntly threatens to mess up his car if he did. Daphne eventually spill the beans on Squidward's side of the story to Squilvia, who isn't too happy about it. 

She confronts Squidward about it after Mr. Shell's class. Mr. Shell is forced to play mediator as the two dig into each other over what went wrong during the previous relationship. Squidward argued that he was nothing but good to her and reveals that her leaving him without any explanation left the biggest hole in his life and that it made him feel so inadequate. She says that she was only trying to let him down easy, because she honestly thought he was a terrible, self-absorbed person and that there's a difference between lashing out at fools who deserve it and lashing out at just about everybody, including her. She claims that when she first ran into Squidward at PMU, she thought that maybe he'd change, but is disappointed to see that nothing's changed about him. She insists that they just leave each other alone from now, reiterating that she tried too hard getting into PMU to leave it now on these terms, to which Squidward reluctantly agrees.

A couple days of more tense awkwardness later, Squidward finds out from Mr. Shell that Squilvia had Ms. Wobbegong finalize switching her schedule around to make sure that they don't have any classes together anymore. Squidward checks in with Daphne and Eellen, but Squilvia chose to cut ties with them too. A dejected and stubborn Squidward heads back to his dorm that night, cranks up "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc and puts a portrait he had previously painted of Squilvia on his wall to hide a stain that's lying there.

Trivia:

- The first appearance of Squilvia in Squid, and her second overall appearance since "Love That Squid" in SpongeBob SquarePants.

- This episode reaffirms the sentiment that Squidward is an all-around unpleasant person from "Suave Squid"

- Squidward's vow to refrain from dating in previous episodes is challenged here, but ultimately goes unbroken in the end.

- Kelpin' Donuts, from the episode "Coffee & Donuts", reappears as the place that Squidward takes Squilvia to to meet his friends.

Notes:

- Although she'll still attend PMU, we'll probably not see or hear from Squilvia again.

41b. Pacific Drama Time

One day, Daphne decides to start up a channel on InnerTube where she posts daily vlogs about her life as an outlet of sorts outside of schoolwork. When she sees that all her vlogs (and channel in general) have a low view/subscriber count by her standards, she comes to the conclusion that her life just isn't exciting and decides to make some "creative changes" to her channel in order to spice her videos up. She starts a drama channel about all the "dramatic goings on" at PMU called "Pacific Drama Time" with her as its mystery host. She rings in this new creative direction by posting a video inciting a "love triangle" between Ray, Peterpus and Squidina, which goes about as well as she'd hope. She then creates drama between Eellen and Squidward by making it look like Eellen deliberately threw Squidward's clarinet in the trash. She even posts a video about how Mr. Shell and Ms. Wobbegong have a secret love child who's currently at the university.

Eellen eventually finds out that Daphne is the one behind Pacific Drama Time, and urges her to stop what she's doing since she's making life hell for the people she cares about on campus, but Daphne is to bent on seeing her "artistic vision" for the school through. Eellen eventually confides in Squidward for help with Daphne, but things come to a head when Daphne posts a video about Squidward's recent relationship drama with Squilvia. Not amused by that being made public, Squidward confronts Daphne and chews her out for exploiting people, especially her friends, like this. He then responds to her acts of disregard by exposing her and her channel to the entire school while Daphne makes her hourly trip up for air, which leaves her blacklisted by a lot of people, even Ray and Peterpus. 

Daphne's channel gets promptly shut down by Wobbegong, who is honestly surprised that someone like Daphne was able to cause such damage to the student body. She won't expel Daphne, because Daphne proved to be a star student before all this drama began, but really, it's Wobbegong's own twisted way of punishing her by keeping her around all the people she's slandered for somehow finding out about her secret son with Shell. With no one but Eellen willing to forgive her and keep her company.

Trivia:

- Monroe Rechid, from the spinoff "Break a Leg!", appears as student currently attending PMU in one of Daphne's videos. He is later seen hanging out with Ray as one of his friends on the football team, when they were shown giving Daphne a hard time after her channel is exposed.

- Many side and one-note characters at the school from previous episodes are also seen being covered in Daphne's videos.

- This episode reveals why Daphne was prying and snooping as much as she was in "Hate That Squid".

- Daphne references the events of "Radio Ray" when Ray and his friends confront her, but he just downplays the severity of that situation.

Notes: Daphne is currently on bad terms with Squidward, Ray and Peterpus, as well as most of the school, moving forward into the new season. The one exception being Eellen. Future writers may go about this arc as they wish.
