March Madness 2016

That's right, our biggest teams event of the year, which is our fourth annual March Madness, returns next week! From March 1st to March 31st, our two forum teams, the Band Geeks and Drasticals, will duke it out once again for superiority across the site. Whichever team wins the most events by the end of the month will receive very special prizes. This will be the second March Madness to have the Band Geeks and Drasticals face each year. The Band Geeks won last year 19-18. Will they win twice, or will the Drasticals finally get their big break? I'm not a fortune teller, but since this isn't strictly on SpongeCraft, I think both sides have an equal chance. :) Here is just a sneak preview of events to expect...

(NOTE: You MUST be on a team to participate in everything listed below this month. If you show to a game not on a team, it will frustrate people, so please be sure to sign up in the draft here if you are interested.)

1.) SpongeBob Jeopardy!: All four Jeopardy games every Saturday in March will count on the scoreboard.

2.) SpongeBob Wheel of Fortune: All four Wheel of Fortune games every Friday in March will count on the scoreboard.

3.) SpongeCraft Tournaments: There will be SpongeCraft games every Saturday in March after Jeopardy counting for the scoreboard.

4.) The Fry Cook Games III: Yup, our Survivor-esque game, the Fry Cook Games returns again. Each round during this will count for the scoreboard.

5.) SBC Music DJ Showdowns: Every Friday night after Wheel of Fortune, we'll be doing music tournaments on the new SBC Music (which was upgraded just in time!) to see whichever team member can get the most liked song by the end of the hour, which counts on the scoreboard!

6.) Wiki Write-Offs: A new feature for this event: Every Monday night in March, we'll be having a competition to see who can contribute most to the wiki in a given timeframe, and the team member that contributes the most (that isn't spam) will get a point for their team.

7.) Doubloon Stockpiling: Another new feature for this event: Every Wednesday night in March, I'll have a competition to see which team can wager the most doubloons into a pot (there would be limits of course), and whichever team gets the most doubloons by the end of a given timeframe gets a point.

And that's not even everything! There's of course going to be more games (and most of you should know what one of the hidden ones is by now), along with skins, but it wouldn't be fun if I told them all right away. As you can see, more or less every component of the site will be included in this tournament, which will hopefully make this our biggest March Madness ever. We hope at least most team members from each side can participate (I totally understand if you cannot attend every single event, that is physically impossible), but it would make your team happy if you at least tried in an event.

Also, I should bring this up if it makes people nervous: After this March Madness ends, I will have more team games within forum events that aren't specifically on SpongeCraft. So that way you can still help your team if you can't use SC. I think that's a fair compromise if the SC factor was turning people off. :) (But you still at least must be active for games after this if you want to stay on a team)

Once again, if you aren't on a team, sign-ups are here. If you have further questions, ask me, or one of the team leaders (Trophy for Band Geeks and OpenWindowManiac for Drasticals).
