So far it sounds pretty promising. Let's hope all that promise is long term. I would hate to see a repeat of the Wii U's problems. 1
crushingmayhem Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 http://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-nx-news-confirmed-for-tomorrow-morning/1100-6444626/ Had to bump this since there's news about this upcoming console. Apparently the reveal is tomorrow. What will the console be? Feel free to speculate.
Young Nug Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 HOW HAVENT ANY OF YOU SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE SWITCH 2
G4RY SMELLY Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Switch looks great <3333 2K, Splatoon, and Skyrim on the go? Hell yeah
Metal Snake Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Looks at least ten times more promising than the Wii U. I'm so glad that the rumors of it being a home console/handheld console hybrid turned out to be true.
crushingmayhem Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Honestly the trailer looks a lot better than the Wii U's reveal trailer. I'm expecting this to be a great console, hopefully it'll have great exclusives and third party support this time around.
Old Man Jenkins Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 If I were to bring them joints down to the b-ball courts where I live, I'd be mugged so fast looks slick tho, I'm hyped. Although my dumb ass would probably end up losing some of the parts
crushingmayhem Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/21/nintendo-switch-will-support-unreal-engine-4 Apparently the console will support Unreal Engine 4. This means it can potentially receive multi platform games from the other consoles. Judging from this and other rumors the console won't be in the same situation as the Wii U was. Sounds promising to say the least. Hopefully the next Mario or Metroid game will look impressive.
70s Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Will definitely be getting it, but praying for backwards compatibility so I can sell my Wii U for a little money towards it.
Clappy Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 Bump because: HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS LOOKS AMAZING I WANT IT! WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS THAT I ALREADY HAVEN'T? GIMMIE! A SEQUEL TO PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY GOOD ORIGINAL FRANCHISE NINTENDO MADE FOR THE WII U?!?! LOVE ME SOME MORE MARIO KART!!!!! OH MY GOD YES PLEASE BE AMAZING!!!!!! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY. ALL OF IT. IT'S NOT LIKE THERE ISN'T ANYTHING ELSE THAT CAN PUSH THIS RELEASE OVER THE TOP IN TERMS OF HOW MUCH I WANT..... ....THE RETURN OF A TALKING BLUE HEDGEHOG (YOU GET THREE GUESSES BUT THE FIRST TWO DON'T COUNT)!?!? crushingmayhem Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 The Zelda and Fire Emblem trailers look promising. I also liked the new Mario game, i always expected them to pick a city like world for it. As for the other games, they look decent. I might pick up a Switch if more games are released for it.
Old Man Jenkins Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If Nintendo shows Platinum Games some love and picks up Scalebound for this, I'd be even more happy.
CyanideFishbone Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Literally when I saw the trailer for Super Mario Odyssey every reason as to why I love Mario basically came to me and I started fucking smiling while watching it. Words can't describe how excited I am for that.
Metal Snake Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I love how Sega not being dead is the cherry on top. But yes, still this... sbl Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 So, the Zelda Machine console has been released. First reviews are promising, but still, if you want more games, scared of the left Joy-Con problem, want more games, scared of the blue screen problem, or want more games, wait until at least April or May. Stock is selling out very quickly everywhere (Amazon US orders are broken as fuck), but if you have the opportunity, get it! I was very lucky to order it on March 3rd on Amazon, and it will arrive March 7th. I will give my review sometime that week, first impressions maybe on March 7th as well. The Switch, if you're wondering, costs 299 USD and 399 CAD (fuck our dollar). Games released at launch include: 1-2-Switch Fast RMX Just Dance 2017 Human Resource Machine I Am Setsuna The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Little Inferno Shovel Knight Skylanders: Imaginators Snipperclips Super Bomberman R World of Goo Coming Spring: Arms (Spring 2017) Has-Been Heroes (March 2017) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (April 28th) Puyo Puyo Tetris (Spring 2017) Snipperclips, Cut It Out Together (March 2017) Summer: Rime Splatoon 2 Beyond/TBD: Disgaea 5 Complete (TBD) Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (2017) FIFA (2017) Fire Emblem Warriors (TBD) Minecraft (2017) Minecraft: Story Mode (TBD) Rayman Legends (TBD) NBA 2K (2017) New Shin Megami Tensei (TBD) Skyrim (Fall 2017) Sonic Mania (2017) Steep (2017) Super Mario Odyssey (Holiday 2017) Syberia 3 (TBD) The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (TBD) Ultra Street Fighter II (2017) Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (2017) Happy Switching! 3
4EverGreen Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Seven Games I WANT to play, not to mention HD graphic "SKYRIM"?!!!! To quote Fry from "Futurama": "Shut up and TAKE my money!" 1
sbl Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Alright, the moment you've all been waiting for. sbl's immediate review after having the Switch for 3 days! First of all, when you release your console with 1 known and loved game and like 10 other trash games, you gotta ask yourself: If you want people to play at launch and get more sales, you need better games than Just Dance and BoTW. I really liked the concept of this console, which is one thing that Nintendo did greatly. It's pretty fast, but the quality of games is garbage at 900p. I bet you that even though the Wii U version of L is at 720p (I believe), it will still look better on a 1080p TV. 900p30 isn't what games should run at, they should run at least 1080p30/60. Oh, but the battery will drain faster than it's charging in the dock, because there's more power strain. PUT IN A BIGGER BATTERY. Some problems with my console are that my left Joy-Con controller kept desyncing, and the game kept dropping frames, while I was just walking in a forest. They really got to fix that. Pros: - Great console concept - Pretty fast with the NVIDIA Tegra inside it - Nice controller concept - Comfortable controllers Cons: - No games at launch - Launch problems (some Switch owners are reporting glitched out and frozen screens, as well as dead pixels which are not considered a manufacturer defect) - Dropped frames dramatically, almost to an estimated 15 fps, even if you're just doing nothing in the game. - Simple UI, but it's too simple (hard to find even how to sync Nintendo Account) Final rating: 7/10 Verdict: Don't buy this console yet. If you really want to play Zelda, wait at least until all console problems are dealt with, stock is replenished (most likely starting to be replenished in mid-April). Wait until more games are released (Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and more). I'll most likely return this console by April 6th (although probably next week or tomorrow/Saturday).
