Variety reports that the Fox network has ordered a pilot based on William Peter Blatty’s novel. This incarnation of The Exorcist will be set in modern times, and is described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller” in which two very different men confront a case of demonic possession that leads them to face true evil. The writer is Jeremy Slater, who penned last year’s The Lazarus Effect and co-scripted Adam Wingard’s upcoming adaptation of the manga Death Note, and the production entities are 20th Century Fox Television and Morgan Creek Productions, the latter of which was also behind The Exorcst III, Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist and Exorcist: The Beginning. No other talent has yet been announced.

I... don't know how to feel about this, honestly. I'm not too thrilled...

... especially not with Jeremy Slater writing for it. :glare:

Even if I wasn't fond of barf stuff in it, I still really liked the first movie. It was pretty suspensful and dark. This new series is just made for cash and I don't see how can they turn this into a tv series. Have zero expectations for this.
