Discuss the Netflix-exclusive series. I haven't watched it yet, but I've heard good things about it. You also shouldn't judge the show by the pilot alone.

The "J" should be capitalized, but I can't edit the topic name.

One of my favorite shows. The trailers they showed last year didn't do it justice at all - you really can't accurately capture this type of show in a trailer. They utilized the Netflix model really well (meaning it's supposed to be binge-watched) and were able to actually develop the characters and have a consistent narrative throughout the first season; things have payoff and nothing gets forgotten. I love when cartoons have continuity and this does it so well. Second season comes out soon so people should get on this.

It's AWESOME!!!!  B) Not to mention, one of my favorite actresses, Nicole Sullivan, guest stars (her voice, anyways) in two episodes in the first season!  :D I hope to hear more of her! ;)

This show is one of the best adult cartoons in a while. It's so interesting and it tells a great story about a washed-up horse. It started off weak but it got better and better.

I keep thinking that one dude from DBZ every time I hear about this lol. My sister and her husband tell me that I should watch it but since I've come to appreciate your opinions more than their's, I should probs give this a go one of these days. Seems like it could be my bag.

This got renewed for season three. I'm super stoked to see where everyone ends up, because everyone seemed to have their story lines closed up by the end of season two. We got New York teased a couple times for BoJack and we have Princess Carolyn doing her thing, but Diane, Mr. Peanutbutter, and Todd all seem to have been developed enough to the point where they don't really need to be in the show anymore.

I watched the first episode of this and wasn't really that impressed so I didn't watch more. But I know everyone says it gets better so I'm going to give it another shot at some point.

I remember when the 2014 me saw advertisements for this show and thought it looked stupid.

Shut the fuck up, 2014 me. This show is really great.

Yeah, the first season is weird. It was written specifically to be binge-watched, and the way it's set up is the first four episodes set up the characters and their arcs and then the next four focus on the different main characters and then the last four wrap up it all up. If you're interested in the show then definitely watch the first four episodes. They're not totally representative of what the show ends up being, but the season is only 12 episodes long so that'd be a third of the season and if you're not sold on it by then you probably won't end up caring about what happens to the characters after that.

Eh. I thought the writing was definitely more solid but there was too much of a lack of Todd for me to agree with that 100% (regardless of how well he was used in his sparse appearances).

More like one of the best shows in years. I've never felt this upset about a series in my life until this show. This show knows how to make you feel who you are, if my choices are actually right, can I be happy in future, can I make up my mistakes. It's such a relatable cartoon for everyone. Usually adult cartoons have an imfanous history of being so immature (making tons of sex and drug jokes, swears, so many unnecessary shock value, characters acting so dumb, offending people) but this show actually used adult content in such a mature way and that's a high praise cuz even most of adult cartoons I love have these typical cliches but Bojack knows how to use adult content.  It knows when to use chock value without grossing you out, swears aren't forced, sex and drug jokes are used with consequences, characters are well-developed but also really flawed characters and the show rarely offends. At ther same time it tells a really great story of celebritiy lives and how the society sees celebrities. It's also really damn funny. Jokes are so dark and depressing, I can't help but laugh. Bojack himself is presented as famous, yet a person that dealt with abuse in his childhood, alcohol and drug and a huıge depression. He's a kind of person who ruines other people's lives because he doesn't know how to be likeable but he knows he's a horrible person and he tries to change but he can't. The show made me empathize such a huge asshole and made me see that I don't wanna become like Bojack but I want him to become better person so badly. This show hit me hard with such depressing moments and it's hard to watch at times but seriously I love this show with my heart. First season strarted off a tad weak but got better and better. At times first half of season 2 didn't give me same feelings of how I felt about second half of season 1, even though It was still so good but second half of season 2 was a blast. Third season could be one of the best seasons I've ever watched out of any show because every episode mattered to me, even one silly episode when Bojack goes to a sea city with almost no talk and the season kept going darker and darker and it had a such a damn season finale, it set up season 4 and I can't wait for that. Please do yourself a favor and watch the show.

First two seasons: A-

Third season: A+

The show as a whole: A
