One time, a month before 2013, MoBrosStudios' Top 20 worst lists become all the rage and to the point where Steel would express a list of 20 Spongebob episodes that he didn't like/felt were the worst.

You can see it here: http://www.thesbcommunity.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6184-steels-top-20-worst-spongebob-episodes/

Now, just in time for the rise of Mr. Enter's popularity and to decide to show off much of a Spongebob fan I am, I'm going to spread some love for the show and fandom by counting down my top rated Spongebob episodes. Expect a mixed bag, and I MEAN expect a mixed bag when it comes to my favorites. I'm starting this list on Friday, BTW.

i hope you're not going to copy Mr. Enter's list.

Just don't do what SomeCanadian6 has done.

Because I mentioned Mr. Enter doesn't mean I'm practically going to do that. While Mr. Enter has done a best list, it's still unlikely. My best countdown is meant to give some people a reminder of why Spongebob is still good and that we can't lose hope on the show.

So as I get started with this, be mature with your comments, no generic pre vs. movie flame wars, no trolling, lolligagging, taking your computer for a walk....yeah, now I'm making some stuff up. Let this commence already....

..........

Well, once you have opened up that spoiler tab, you're now thinking: is this is part of Steel's sense of humor? I'm being legitimate here. I swear I'm not making this up or cracking a joke on here, Whale of a Birthday IS MY #20. It's at least not as bad as its partner segment. Why do I like this one enough to place it at the start of my list? I just seemed to be impressed with it somehow. My first impressions of making it a favorite was making me laugh. It was also memorable the more I caught this on TV. I get it, Pearl is a character that's really hard to get into. She's bratty, her behavior goes into the epitome of most teenage characters, she would critcize her father for being cheap, she gets upset so easily, but....in a way, even if it's exaggerated and differentiated, that's a teenager. Of course, it's not like Pearl hates her father, Mr. Krabs, too. One thing I can't be too impressed with in this episode is the fact that Pearl can be pretty uppity in certain scenes. It makes sense how she's had a history of bad birthday parties though, so I can't say it ruins it for me. When Pearl tells Mr. Krabs clearly to not be cheap and ruin the party for her, Mr. Krabs does it anyways, because....well, wouldn't doing the right thing be a sign of the apocalypse for his character? I get it, Mr. Krabs is cheap in this episode and refused to pay attention, but he's not at his worst and his character still shows how much he loves Pearl. At least in the end, Mr. Krabs gets charged with an outrageous receit in due Spongebob doing exactly what Pearl wanted. Pearl at least gets what she wants rather than cry herself to death and Mr. Krabs doesn' t too frustrated with how Spongebob used up the credit card. To explain some funny moments like Spongebob "buying" Billy Fishkins, Squidward imitating Boys Who Cry, and this exchange: "It tastes like dishwater." "It is dishwater." That's how I can describe why I somehow come to accept liking this episode. It's not perfect and I'm aware of this and any arguments you guys can make, but....it's still my #20.

This should be acceptable enough if you guys weren't so thrilled about what I put at #20. This episode is so unique in so many special ways where I can accept an ending where Squidward just stands there awkwardly....because they can make it work even by throwing out the paper by the end. It's not just because it gives the staff creative ability for such a piece of paper, it's also because I find it funny. Squidward trying to have fun over Spongebob's piece of paper is funny, the many ways Spongebob uses the piece of paper is funny, Squidward trying to have fun with the paper is funny, you know where I'm getting at here. It's kind of like the opposite of "Waiting," which takes a useless plot, only to make it look more worthless, whereas "The Paper" takes a useless plot but rearranges it by making it so entertaining and worth watching. Some moments I would point out is Spongebob literally using the paper to showcase a flashback of Squidward, using the paper as a clarinet, and probably anything Squidward tries to do with the paper. Simply put, it's entertaining, it's creative, it has good chemistry, and I consider this one of Season 1's finest gems.

Some hints for the next pair of episodes:

To be honest, I think your #20 pick is greater than your #19 pick, the latter of which is an episode I find very, very overrated, and you all know how much I hate that word.

Are you really Mr. Enter?

He's probably joking with us, so I recommend you don't feed him.

And to think you don't like Pearl....

No, I still hate Pearl, but she didn't annoy me too much in that episode. In fact, I found that episode to have her best characterization ever. Definitely one of the highlights of Season 4.

"The Paper", meanwhile... I just don't get it. It's an okay episode, but that's it.

Talk about having a pot of gold buried beneath a sack filled with manure ["All That Glitters"]. While there's little substance about "the magic" that Spongebob and Patrick find, along with Patrick having his pushy moments, this is still an episode I can find pretty funny and still consider it as a favorite. Mr. Krabs, being the greedy crustacean he always is, tries to save money from falling into a well until he understands the concept of a wishing well. Mr. Krabs decides to devise a wishing well as a scam to collect money that the citizens discard. Patrick eventually falls down the well and it becomes a "party" when Squidward unwillingly drops down as well. (no pun intended) We've seen Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward do some comedic routines and I enjoy their interactions during this episode so much. Patrick shows attitude towards Squidward, but not for reasons that it totally ruins his character and instead turns out to be funny based on his now-rare ability to deliver. I'd also take note that there is some "Squid Abuse." I wouldn't dare use that term in any way, but it's also those rare episodes where I can assure most people can find funny. The song and reprise are both short, but not shabby at all. In the end, Squidward, apparently, gets his wish to be far away from Spongebob and Patrick, and some of the other characters who used the well somehow got their wishes. Mr. Krabs gets bad karma from making his own wish into the well, transporting him into a live-action scenario on a silver platter, with melted butter. I like this episode for how rare it is to perform so fluently: the characters, the interactions, the deliveries....all in all, it keeps me entertained. Some moments I would highlight would be Squidward and Spongebob during one part of the musical number, the alternate interpretation of  the term "claustrophobic," into Santa Claus, and the whole "Squidward-taking-up-space" routine.

With the sweet sound of Pantera, you would expect something good from this episode, right? After all, it's from Season 2. Sandy's character starts feeling insane on this here episode. With Spongebob for the road, they deliver very well. Sandy wants to do a bunch of extreme sports and stunts with Spongebob before hibernation, that would be for the first half. For the second half, Spongebob decides to hide from her because he couldn't take anymore as Sandy gathers up a search party. It gets really entertaining to see Sandy getting crazier as the episode progresses and until the end. The Pantera music tracks popping up during the episode gives the episdoe a sense of danger and excitement. Not only do I think it was fitting, but it introduces the show to a different sound for the occassion, so Pantera were a good enough choice as "guests." There's a bunch of moments of hilarity I can list, Spongebob slamming through the sandman, that random guy who ends up dressed like a little kid, "Gold Team rules!", the Bikini Bottomites making false proclamations of finding Spongebob, Patrick in the ending, and just Sandy's performance in general. This episode has so much energy and opportunties they never missed. To me, it's essentially one of my favorite Sandy episodes and I stuck to that. Once I announce the next episode, I would actually upgrade its rank to #16, but oh well...it's better than lying about the positions twice.

This episode might be an interesting choice to be placed on my countdown, because Season 5 feels like the start of darkness for most fans. Roller Cowards is arguably a gem from that season. The plot is that Spongebob and Patrick want to go to the hottest (no pun intended) new rollercoaster in Glove World called the "Fiery Fist O' Pain." Eventually, it turns out that the two friends changed their minds over and over about being on the ride and start lying to each other and trying to shrug off the ride in any way they could....until they end up riding the Fist O' Pain. So yeah, nothing bad really happens with the episode's quality as the duo's respective characterizations are not ruined. Once again, it's one of those rare episodes where I find Patrick's antics to be funny. Heck, the episode does a good job with its humor. Before the end, we do get to see Spongebob and Patrick ride the Fiery Fist O' Pain, and that just makes the episode feel more exciting. My main verdict is that this episode comes off as a funny segment, especially when you have moments such as Patrick talking to his own reflection, which got me laughing when I first saw the episode, the old fish wanting to go on the ride in spite of his condition, the outrageous effects listed from riding the rollercoaster, and probably also the scene with Spongebob and Patrick on "The Mitten." The episode has an amount of clever jokes, the conversations delivered are also funny, and the plot does just fine....more than you can expect from a Season 5 episode.

Now here's the classic Season 3 I was going to talk about and it's undeniably one of the season's best. Anyhow, Spongebob and Patrick recieve a giant TV, but they decide to keep the box while the two let Squidward have the TV. Hilarity ensues when Spongebob and Patrick play inside the box with effects, the voices, and everything, much to Squidward's confusion as Spongebob gives him an explanation about "imagination." I could have ranked this higher since there's a lot of moments I'd like to discuss, but this is my #15 for now. All that creativity really pays off when Spongebob and Patrick go on a mountain climbing adventure, a car chase, Robot Pirate Island....and they can still make it look funny. Some other moments I would acknowledge are Squidward trying to use the gift box for his imagination, The delivery between Squidward and his TV among programs about boxes, the scene where Squidward actually manages to use his imagination, and just almost anything Spongebob and Patrick do over the episode. Only in my standards do I think it's not the best episode and even the best Season 3 episode. The way I pick favorites here is diverse, even if I admit if this episode does have a lot of cleverly humorous moments. So yep, I'm probably going to cut this short like with "The Paper" and consider this episode as another classic gem, even for one from the highly praised Season 3.

Hints on the next two:

A Season 6 episode!? What's going on here?

Another Season 3 episode with something about robots....
