Registration Terms

You must be 16 years or older to join SBC.

• Discriminatory language or discrimination of a person’s sexuality or gender identity is not permitted. You will receive an immediate week-long suspension. Discriminatory language includes sexism, racism, ageism, rape jokes, et cetera.
• Spam is prohibited on all forums except for The Industrial Park. Examples of spam include random strings of letters and/or numbers, irrelevant/unsolicited advertisements, and random imagery/media unrelated to a discussion.
• Doxing, or posting any personally identifiable information (PII) of an individual without their permission, is not permitted. Examples include social media accounts, physical addresses, and phone numbers. You will receive an immediate ban. Be smart—always ask for permission before posting other people’s PII!
• Please try to not multi-post. Multi-posting is when you make a post or multiple posts right after yours, clogging up a topic. If you do so, bring it to staff (preferably a moderator)’s attention. Multi-posting is only allowed without issue in personal topics, such as: fanfiction, review threads, or Sharing Time.
• Bumping a fairly recent or ancient thread is allowed, but please keep it within reason. For example, don’t bump a thread that announces the premiere date of a new SpongeBob episode from 2015.
• Bashing of opinions, fanfictions, users, or ships is not allowed.
• More than one account, whether or not you’re doing bans, will result in an immediate ban. Before making another account if you’ve lost access to your original SBC account, let the staff know.
• When you Private Message, all rules still apply. Do not abuse or harass through PMs, or send anyone inappropriate material. If someone is harassing you via PMs, please report the situation.

• Please try to keep all 18+ content in #dapit, our NSFW channel. You’re free to say anything non-discriminatory in there, but please be careful of how inappropriately you talk, especially around minors. If a user who is a minor says that you’re making them uncomfortable, please put a stop to what you’re doing and reflect on yourself. Staff may take control of the situation if need be.
• Do not spam unless you are in #dapit.
• Please only keep one account on our Discord server. If you lose access to your Discord account that was registered on our server, let the staff know, Joke accounts are only permitted as long as staff is aware of who is controlling them.
• We encourage you to use bots in their respective channels: #robot-pirate-island and #music-fm. The former is meant for all bot usage, and the latter is meant for Chuu, our Last.fm/music statistics bot. Commands are allowed outside of these channels, as long as you are not spamming and filling them up during other conversations.
• Lastly, and above all, be a good person! Don't harass people. We don't want to get the banhammer. Be kind to one another.

• Unless you have been given prior permission, or are creating a parody, directly using copyrighted material for a fanfiction may qualify as plagiarism. You may receive a warning, and the copyrighted material will be removed as a result. Provide proof of your permission, or credit the original author.
• Review a user’s creation in a respectful way. Don’t be harsh—provide constructive criticism!
• Your work doesn’t have to be SpongeBob themed. Write whatever you want!
• If your work contains inappropriate material, please use the PG-13 or Mature prefixes. You can add them when making a new topic or by editing posts in those forums.
• Joke fanfictions or "trollfics" are works that aren’t seriously written. These are allowed, but only if they at least tell a form of a story and are comprehensible. Any incomprehensible work, or flat out spammy writing, may be deleted.

• Don’t throw a tantrum if you don’t win a game in any event. It’s a game for a reason! Have some fun, and bond with the community. You won’t always win!
• Any user can be disqualified or booted from a game if they disrupt the event.
• QueUp's sole purpose is for music. Unless an official event is occurring that allows for other types of videos to be requested, any non-music request is subject to the discretion of a staff member. This includes “joke” videos. An exception will be made if you obtain prior permission from a staff member. For example: If JCM is on SBC Music a you ask to play a video and he says you can, then this rule doesn’t apply apply for the mentioned video.
• All basic rules still apply to QueUp, Pictionary chat (Sketchful), and any other game chat's room.
• Do not destroy other people’s creations on SpongeCraft Frontiers. This is known as “griefing.”

If a user feels they have been wrongly accused or punished, they may report this to a staff member and the situation will be assessed by the entire team.
