BACKYARD BASEBALL: SBC SLUGGERS It's never easy being the new kid in town, especially when you're disabled and autistic. Separated from her old life and (very few) friends on the first day of summer in 1997, 9-year old Rebel ends up having a lifechanging encounter with "Prez", left fielder for the Backyard Baseball League team the Humongous Juniors. Discovering she has a wicked talent for pitching, Rebel is recruited into the Juniors - an experienced but incompetent and unremarkable team - where she meets the other members: Katniss, Wumbo, jjs, Trophy, Hawk, Clappy, and OMJ. Can Rebel fit in with these new pals, or is she destined to strike out?
