I was in the bathroom. When the lights went out, I quickly floated out of the bathroom and saw a strange figure running out of Eugene's office. I swear on me mother's grave it resembled him too...

I know what yer all suspecting, and I can tell you it's a load of barnacles! Yes, I may be a ghost, but why would I want to steal the stupid formula? I don't even eat Krabby Patties! It's clearly either Plankton or Krabs, one of 'em is lyin', it just be a matter of who. I would suggest questioning the sponge, starfish and octopus thoroughly too, one of them might be in on it.
