god i hate how toxic the cartoon fandoms are on twitter. nothing but scumbags or assholes fighting each other about how "these old cartoons are way better than calarts" when we should literally just be accepting of cartoon tastes and just make whatever creators want to make. It makes me want to create a rant video but it'll look cringe since I'm not good at doing commentaries.
Animation is an artform. It evolves, you can make stuff inspried by the golden age, go for it. Don't force everyone else to do it or act better than everyone else with it though. I know not every fan is like that, but seeing back and forth from people around that John K respcter troll (are they a troll, i don't even know, it feels so legitimate not to be a troll due to how far it's gone, but I've heard it is, still very toxic) and their supporters and people who are into modern day animation. Animation is allowed to evolve into other styles outside of where it started. That's what art is supposed to do, evolve into different styles. It doesn't mean you can't keep doing older styles of an artform, you know.
It just really annoys me and it's why I shouldn't even bother with it. It also makes me just not want to even pursue it since it just feels like an industry where everyone fucks the creator over, or you have to deal with a few weirdos or scumbags who didn't want to get mental help before it was too late and before pursuing their dream job.

Okay, I'm glad I'm another exception. Opinion wars are just stupid. It makes me glad I'm an opinion respecter. We've all got different tastes, I'm not going to be a big crybaby just because somebody prefers Tom and Jerry or Bugs Bunny to Uncle Grandpa or Amphibia. I respect their opinion - but to be honest, I'm a guy who likes the best of both worlds. I like older stuff AND new stuff. Classic cartoons, newer stuff, anime and European stuff can all coexist peacefully, I think, but it's darn near impossible these days with flamewars going around social media about opinions.
Reading this makes me glad I only intend to use Twitter for what I think is a pretty healthy use of social media - I only intend to use it to get answers to questions that've been bugging me, in the event that it'd be quicker to ask certain people on Twitter or if it seems like the only way.
I wish I could go on, but I can't - I honestly don't wanna feel like I'm making you boiling mad by saying the *wrong* thing.

Just a reminder that this IS Labor Day Weekend, which means that this is (SUPPOSEDLY) your last chance to wear white, since it's APPARENTLY not fashionable to wear white AFTER Labor Day. Who came up with THAT rule? I have absolutely NO idea!
Enough said, true believers!

For whatever reason, I decided to watch this old Discovery Kids show called "Kenny the Shark". Okay, really, but nothing really stands out at me.
-
TBH I'd rather see what @Shark says about Kenny or Jabberjaw! XD

If I might ask you a question - and I'm sure I might've posed the same query before - which of my many SBM and SBC avatars is your favorite(s)? I'll very likely be leaving (for real this time) by the end of the year, and I'd like my last avatars to be the ones the community liked the most. Even if it's one from my obsession with a certain Tiny Toons character I won't bother to name.

Not to worry, I'm on Discord so we can chat. I'd be glad to make up for all that time I could've spent chattin', laughin' and reminiscin' with you. I'm also into VHS tapes, so I think we've something in common we could talk about. I'm also on FANDOM as "SqueakyCartWheel" (don't ask why I chose that weird name). I'm mostly on ESB and one other wiki, but we can talk on whichever Wiki you're on, if you're on any. The vast majority of my old avatars are either archived on my laptop or on my external hard drive - plus a lot of 'em are on imgur. The ones I bothered to delete were ones of Elmyra I don't know why I bothered to save. Trivia regarding many of my old Elmyra avatars - many of them (the ones that looked kinda VHS-y in quality) were sourced from a couple of bizarre fansites I somehow discovered - I'm guessing the latter was found via an image search - the other one was linked on the Tripod site, but inactive. I was able to find it via the Wayback Machine, however.

Honestly, it's surprising these exist in any form. I'm just going to say it right off the bat - if you say things like "There's no escape, don't try to run!", "Hope you like living behind bars" and have THAT as your counter text, you're probably not going to get a lot of positive comments on your guestbook. (Actually, I was able to find the old guestbook for it, and there actually were a fair amount of positive comments. So much for that theory!) Also, I'm surprised that I don't get a multitude of pop-up messages whenever I try to leave the page - there IS no escape from Elmyra, after all - usually. I've been meaning to contact the webmaster in hopes of finding out what this looked like without all the broken images.
But to get back to the point of the reply: a random batch of some of my avatars over the years, and I can follow up in a PM if you'd like. Some of these were found whilst going through my imgur account but I don't know if I used them. The pic from "Bubblestand" might've been for "So I paused and this happened...", and I'm sure the image of two-headed Pluto was from the non-SB version of that topic, but it's a great still nonetheless. The one with you-know-who hugging a Rabbid might've actually been posted in Post Random Pictures, but I forget. I'm sure Rayman would be laughing his ass off at that one. Some of these (like BillyBob CipherPants), I never used for an avatar but I still really like 'em nonetheless.

Alright, as I plan to leave these forums for real sometime this year, I want you people to choose my next avatar. The one you fellow SBC'ers love the most - i'm going to use up until I leave. However, if there's a specific avatar all of you would like to see again, I'll see what I can do.

Small annoucement that this year's KCA winner for Favorite Cartoon is SpongeBob. Now you can returned to your regularly scheduled activities.

Guys...I wanna come clean about why I was actually leaving SBC in the first place. Yes, I don't use the site much anymore; and yes, I feel I've grown apart from the community. But that was only half of the truth. See, the actual reason I left was over a public calling out towards @President Squidward for what I felt were, to put it politely, contrarian and hypocritical viewpoints on animation.
...Unfortunately, I also got @HawkbitAlpha and his close friend Omni involved; suffice to say, both were pissed, the latter moreso. So rather than own up to my idiocy (as I should've done then and as I'm doing now), I pulled a Metal -level power move and turned tail to avoid a potential shitstorm like a fucking coward.
That was beyond wrong of me, and I likely not only ended up hurting Prez (who, in spite of our differing viewpoints and occassionally contrasting attitudes, has been nothing but nice to me), but @4EverGreen and @Inanimate Carbon Rod as well; they're two of my closest friends on this site, and in only looking out for myself, I abandoned them like a cruel bastard.
So now what? Well, after some thought about it, I've decided to take the high ground and come back (even if I won't be as active as I was). That's the best thing to do anyway, isn't it? To confront your own mistakes instead of running away from them? So I'm asking @jjsthekid to bring back my lits from DJL, and 4EG and I will get back into the swing of things with PR: MVF.
-
Say hello to your new supreme leader!
-
So, I know that I said I was leaving SBC, but I want to say one last thing before I leave you all behind me.
I'm bequeathing PR: MVF to @4EverGreen, and allowing @jjsthekid and @Steel Sponge ownership of the rest of my works for archival purposes/to use as they see fit. That is all. Thank you guys for the last 4 years or so. It's been wild.

I've already said this on Discord, but I'll announce it here too: I'm leaving SBC. I barely use the site anymore, and I've honestly just grown apart from the community as a whole. I have nothing against anyone here personally, it's just time for me to move on. If you want to keep in contact with me, my Discord and Twitter info are in my profile; I'll also be on MLP Forums for anyone who's also part of that site.

I wonder: is the Kool-aid Man the jar, or is he the liquid? Let's discuss.

say, whatever happened to Nick's plans for a live-action/CGI hybrid film of Rugrats?

Dec. 10: The Day YouTube Dies.

Have I shown you this before?

Hey, just wondering, where's your profile picture from? Some old Cartoon Network show?
-
In this installment of Steel makes you feel very old, the cartoon character, Felix the Cat, just recently became 100 years old.

@kev It's a GIF I had lying around of Woody from a series of little shorts Pixar produced for ABC in the late '90s called "Toy Story Treats." Here's a compilation:
