There's a lack of a mainstream culture, a lot of awful stuff, a huge divide in humanity, tech getting more boring and honestly awful with AI, and nostalgia is everywhere but in such a dull way and lacking of my own nostalgia that it makes me sad. However 2024 was fine for me

    Still kinda bummed out that I don’t enjoy SpongeBob anymore past like season 7.

     

    Show brought me so much joy growing up and it just feels so different now. Feels more like an excuse for Vincent and co to just make it more similar to the wacky stuff they like than more akin to its own unique cartoony style that made SB work. I’m afraid to even watch episodes because Squidward is my fav and I don’t want to watch some of the most frustrating writing for a character I love.
