To celebrate Bob’s 10th anniversary, he asked me to give my favorite year of the 2000’s and to review my top 10 favorite songs from it. And while I’m an alternative person, I still haven’t done the top 91 of 91X that year, so instead I will rank the Hot 100 pop songs that year. 2009 was so fun. Really great year, I loved the SpongeBob’s 10th anniversary, my summer that year was super fun. And the music on the charts were also pretty solid. It was the year of Lady Gaga, and everything had this futuristic feel to it. A vision of what the future would be like (you can see and hear it on Black Eyed Pea’s stuff). A lot of songs on the hot 100 I remember well and like, and it’ll be a bit hard to rank them, so I will give short thoughts on my top 10: #10 - T.I. ft. Justin Timberlake - Dead and Gone - Really love Justin’s chorus on this. #9 - Beyoncé - Sweet Dreams - I love this track. I need to hear more Beyoncé. #8 - Britney Spears - If U Seek Amy - I love classic Britney, but I feel the production on those albums were a bit samey, Circus was always my personal favorite of hers, with this track being my favorite #7 - Lady Gaga - Poker Face - Love the production on this one. #6 - Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) - I know not everyone likes this song, but she sings so well in it. That bridge part is so good. #5 - Coldplay - Viva La Vida - A classic 2008 song that carried over to 2009. #4 - Lady Gaga - Paparazzi - Love the melody in this #3 - Lady Gaga - Just Dance - Such a great song #2 - Owl City - Fireflies - This song is so nostalgic. Love the melody #1 - Kid Cudi - Day N Nite - This song is so psychedelic. Amazing tune.
