    Caved in and watched the first episode of Miraculous Ladybug last night and it's similarities to Shugo Chara are pretty striking. At first I really thought it was nothing to write home about but some fiber of me is itching to watch Episode 2. I really want to like it though.

      Miraculous is so formulaic with the villains and I personally feel like the whole "lucky charm" ending is always just a giant copout for when the episode has been going on too long. Even if everything else feels natural in terms of pacing it's nowhere near enough to make up for that :/
