  1. “Harmonygon” is the icing on the harmonic cake
  2. Something went wrong since the All Saints and Sinners Day show, my Tattletale Strangler and two Santa CAWs didn’t get carried over since my recent save didn’t get loaded up my PSN cloud because my PSN membership was already expired by the time I made all three. So I hastily threw together three new impromptu matches that’ll hopefully make up for their absences. I’ll have to recreate the Strangler from scratch, unfortunately, which I’ll get to eventually. I gave up on the two Santa’s entirely. Should probably take this time drop a New Year update in order to spare the announcements thread from another post by me. I’m thinking the one year mark is a good stopping point for this anniversary project. It’s been a fun ride, but I’m ready to send SpongeBrawl out into the sunset. So SpongeBrawl will officially conclude on April 20, 2024. Got a bit of planning ahead to do first, so I’m not exactly sure when the next show will be posted up. When it drops, it drops I guess. I’ve been thinking of taking a break from the spin-off section in 2024. 2023 was rough for me, and I’m still probably gonna be grappling with its aftershocks heading into this new year. Aside from concluding SpongeBrawl, I still plan on concluding Die-In Theater soon and seeing MegaloMania 2 through come August, but other than that, there’ll be nothing else on my writing plate. So I’ll see yall back here when I see yall here.
  3. What I don’t like the most is the fact that Larry the Snail only appears once throughout that entire time.
  4. - A custom made Kaiju No. 8 funko pop that my friend 3D printed (prob my favorite gift this year, I need to catch up with the manga mang) - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (which is funny considering I’ve never watched either movie) for the Series X - that Dreamworks kart racing game for the Switch - Snacks (Chex mix, butter almond cookies from Trader Joe’s, gummy bears, chocolates, this guava/papaya jam that’ll complement my diet nicely) - a pair of locally made tank tops - And I treated myself to three shirts at Spencer’s
  5. I trust people to get me games I’d like more than clothes I’d like. But just money’s good too.
  6. Another week, another nickel. Oppenheimer: Finally got to watch this after missing out during its summer run, thanks to a reissue. It was pretty great. The three hours went by fast, so it definitely had me invested the whole time. Wonka: I thought was aight. Good, but nothing too spectacular imho. Idk, it’d probably hit more for me if it hinted or leaned in to how Wonka would become the more cynical, sorta crazed man he would go on to be later in life. Because everything wraps up nice and well for him here. He builds his factory, helps an orphan girl, and most of all has a seemingly loyal crew to help him going forward. It’s hard for me to see this young Wonka becoming THAT Wonka lol. Music was good tho and I thought Timothee did pretty well with what he was given.
  7. Another week, another nickel. “The Boy and the Heron”: I was having an off night when I went to watch the premiere for this on Thursday, so I couldn’t take it in fully and enjoy. Watching it again last night with a couple friends helped make the second viewing an overall better experience. ‘‘Twas good. The Holdovers: Definitely up there as one of my top movies of the year. Definitely wanna try watch this again before it gets the unceremonious boot from theaters here this coming week. Waitress: The Musical: A friend of mine wanted to see this and I tagged along just to get out of the house. Never watched a stage musical on the big screen before, but this was a good first experience. Enjoyed more than I thought I would. Makes me wanna watch the original movie it’s based on. and I rewatched Godzilla Minus One again last Sunday to support the G-Man and Next Goal Wins again on Friday because it was the only decent comedy available to make me forget about shit for a while that night.
  8. A lil late, but. Another week, another nickel “American Fiction”: This was last week’s Regal Monday Mystery Movie. It caught me off guard in my feels tbh. The main character’s witnessed his sister die of a heart attack and then he had to take care of his ailing mother with worsening Alzheimer’s. It all kinda flashed me back to when I help took care of my grandma when her own mind was getting worse and to when my dad suffered his cardiac arrest. All that aside, I thought this was still pretty damn good and is definitely one of my favorite mystery movie nights thus far. “Godzilla Minus One”: Hollywood, take notes and bask in the glory of the cinematic magic that can be accomplished with just a $15 million budget. This honestly may have taken the top spot as my favorite Godzilla movie yet. I’ve never been more invested in the human side of a Godzilla story. The kind of stuff that makes me actually cheer when something good happens and tear up when something horrible happens. Watched this twice, on premiere night by myself and then with some friends on Saturday, and it held up great. This movie deserves all the success and praise it gets. Godzilla fans are eating good right now. “Silent Night”: Was pretty disappointed by this one. It took kinda forever to get to the action and when it does get going, it’s pretty fleeting imo. Villains were pretty vanilla as far as these John Wick-esque movies go. And the ending was anticlimactic asf. The main character’s personal journey to get himself to “the dance” and his gimmick in general were cool and interesting, but it’s not enough to carry the rest of the movie for me. still might try to check out the new Hunger Games. I already decided not to bother with Napoleon since I heard less than favorable things about it and I can probably think of better ways to spend three hours. The theater I frequent is finally showing The Holdovers later this week, so I can finally see what all the hype is about. They also reissued Oppenheimer and I never did get around to that during its initial run, so hopefully I can right that wrong.
  9. Kilakilarney, Blarney Kilakilarney. The leprechaun who somehow had an entire Rankin-Bass Christmas special dedicated to himself and I never quite understood why. At least Nestor the long eared donkey carried Mary to Bethlehem and witnessed the birth of baby Jesus. All this guy has is supposed “Christmas gold”. all that said, I went with Jack Frost, and specifically the version of him that gets friendzoned hard in that other Rankin-Bass special.
  10. Another week, another nickel ”Wish”: I can’t even say this movie was mid. I thought Strange World was mid, and I found Strange World to be better than this mess. Wish just sucked. My only takeaways were Perrito’s voice actor having a (rather annoying) role and Disney acknowledging stuff like Treasure Planet and Dinosaur in the closing credits. Way to celebrate 100 years, guys. and the only other thing I watched this week was Thanksgiving again just to say that I saw Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving. The new Hunger Games spinoff/prequel/whatever and Napoleon might be on the docket for this week, but those runtimes mang.
  11. Feeling like I have the worst luck, or at least the worst timing. I guess it’s just what I had coming.
  12. You’d think an Old Man Walker lore bomb episode would be enough to get me hype. It was nice to see the triumphant return of SpongeBob’s garage tho. i give this episode an oopsie hoops out of SpongeBob’s garage
  13. Holy crap, I showed up! Squid/Bass chemistry/tension was good too, I guess. I’ll steal it for SpongeBrawl. i’d give this episode 4 babies being sucked out of the window out of 5, but me showing up unannounced boosts it up to 5 babies being sucked out of the window out of 5!
  14. It’s the Anchovies’ time to shine, BAYBAY. It was nice to see Squidward solo tf out of this problem of the week even tho he didn’t get happy endings at the end. i give this episode an anchovy rumble out of holy crap, new stock anchovy design
  15. As someone who’s also trying to climb the hill that is health and wellness, this episode is pretty timely so I couldn’t pass it up. That Rocky shot of Krabs at the top of those steps looked very pretty, that free weights joke was such a haha Mr. Krabs moment and Krabs using the leg press machine the wrong way reminded me of me in 8th grade weight training class. i give Buff for Puff 3 and a half Shrimp cameos out of 5. Now I await this episode’s sequel, “Shrimp Puff”, where The Shrimp finally gets his revenge on Krabs by stealing his girl
  16. Another week, another nickel ”Waikiki”: A nice lil local indie film, well made and acted for its budget and it handles its subject matter (homelessness/mental illness) with tact. Take notes, Tim Chey. *shudders at 20 Minutes* ”Thanksgiving”: Bloody fun holiday thrill ride. Better than It’s A Wonderful Knife in comparison. Patrick Dempsey, he’s back.
  17. For the first time in a long time, somebody great seems to be interested in me for me and of course my self-sabotaging, Charlie Brown ass mind can’t fathom that and constantly thinks that she deserves better than a piece of nothing like me. I did some subconscious pushing away her away/putting distance between us because I’m a dipshit who doesn’t deserve happiness and I feel like dirt.
  18. Trying to get back on my weight loss tip after about 3-4 years of completely not giving a shit about my physical health and 5-6 years after initially giving up on trying to keep healthy. Weighed in at 174 earlier today. Returning back to my peak weight (180) recently kinda shook me since I promised myself I would never get back to that number when I first made the decision to get into better shape when I was 15. Like, how the hell did I let myself slip so far backward? My height is like 5’7/5’8 if you want a clearer picture, and possibly ruin any past perception you may have had about my height. On top of that, everything that happened with my dad’s heart in recent months has me more wary and conscious than ever about my own cardiac health. When my sister checked my blood pressure while she was here in September, it got pretty up there on multiple occasions. So hopefully I can get some of the results I had before without going too off the deep end. My lowest recorded weight was 116 a little over ten years ago, which my family thought was too low for me. And looking back now, yeah, 30-year old me is inclined to agree.
