I've personally always felt that one of the biggest reasons WHY Squidward's art career has never REALLY taken off; is because he mostly chooses to ONLY make artworks about himself! And finally, I have been proven right with this episode segment! When Squidward ACCIDENTALLY creates an artwork of Spongebob, and it brings him LOTS of money; Squidward is faced with the most EXCRUCIATING decision of his life! Does he REFUSE to make any more artwork of Spongebob because of artistic integrity; or does he SWALLOW his pride and make more artworks with Spongebob as his muse? In order to have a conflict, Squidward tries to make artworks of Spongebob in a SNEAKY way first; before FINALLY sucking it up and letting Spongebob just model for him naturally. The problem of this episode, is that Squidward did NOT set any ground rules when having Spongebob as his muse! Squidward did NOT explicitly set down what Squidward expected from Spongebob as his muse, or how Spongebob should behave and act when acting as his muse. So needless to say, even though Squidward is FINALLY getting all the money and attention he has EVER wanted; it takes a DRASTIC toll on his sanity! This episode is a good moral about how you should NEVER paint the same thing over and over again; it can drive just about ANYONE crazy no matter HOW successful it makes them! Eventually, that fate falls upon Squidward; as he can't TAKE painting Spongebob anymore, and he DESTROYS his own house with Squidward still INSIDE it in a fit of rage! Sadly, the money it takes to repair his house and pay for his medical bills; reduces Squidward back to how he was when he started. Although, at the very least; it looks like Squidward is NOT going to compromise his artistic integrity (no matter how misguided it is), anytime soon. I'll give this episode segment a 9.9 out of 10! Enough said, true believers!
