Nickelodeon to Phineas and Ferb in 1996: NOPE.
What Nickelodeon should have said to Phineas and Ferb in 1996: YES.

And you may find yourself in a SpongeBob forum. And you may find yourself in another part of the world. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife. And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

There's no cartoon to me more overly shat on then Pickle and Peanut. The criticism isn't what annoys me, it's the assumptions in those criticisms. It's intent wasn't to ripoff or cash in on Regular Show, it wasn't made to make kids stupid out of evil intent, it didn't get Wander Over Yonder cancelled, the grossout portion of it just because of the pilot is so overblown compared to Ren and Stimpy or something adult like Brickleberry. Noah and Joel just made an experimental surrealist comedy and delivered. One of my favorite cartoons ever and it's a shame animation twitter acts like they know more than it's creator and police what can or can't be a cartoon.
-
Even I was guilty of prematurely judging it before I actually WATCHED it and gave it a shot! I'm not saying that it was ROBBED of any awards or anything, but at LEAST it TRIED to do something different! I wish there were MORE cartoons at there that were willing to be THAT experimental in their approach! Enough said!

Winter will be here in 168 days

Major piece of information here; I'm going to be going away on a trip to Sedona, Arizona, for a spiritual conference retreat. I'll be going away this Wednesday, June 8, and I won't be back until Thursday, June 16. Since I have no idea what my computer/internet situation will be like while I'm there, I'm writing this to let you know in advance, that if you don't hear anything from me during that time, it's probably because I don't have access to a computer with the Internet. I'll let you know as soon as I am back. Enough said!

Even the names sound similar. Kimba? Simba? Hmm suspicious

Well, the popular urban legend is that back in the late 1980's, Disney tried to approach the original creator of "Kimba" to make a full-budget, animated movie based on his characters. Now, depending on who you believe, either the creator wanted too much money for the rights to make a film about his characters, or Disney didn't want to pay the asking price for his characters, and made "The Lion King" as a response to the creator, that they could MAKE a hit movie WITH or without his characters. A classic case of "He said, They Said," if you believe the urban legend.

The problem with writing a story is you actually have to do it

OK, so I'm SERIOUSLY getting angry at myself w/ how Supreme: The Ivory Icon has been in development hell for 2 months almost

I'm also amazed (in a weird, sort of way), just how much music can FIT onto a 60.7 Gigabit Flash Drive! You would THINK that there couldn't POSSIBLY be that much music in the world that could fill it, and yet, I've already used up MORE than 44.4 Gigabits of it! If it weren't for the fact that I kind of NEED to put music onto my flash drive (being a Radio D.J.), I would be so MUCH more busy and able to write! What's interesting, is that I LITERALLY just looked up what a "Catch 22 Dilemma" is on TV Tropes. I would say it's probably not THAT severe for me, but definitely in the ball park. Enough said!

Haven't been feeling too well lately
-
That sucks; I'm not in a position to feel secure about MY health, either. The county in which I live in, Covid-19 Omicron cases have jumped up 2,000 since last month! I mean, I'm feeling healthy, and so is my girlfriend, thankfully! But needless to say, the only way I'm going to feel REALLY comfortable touching someone else, is with a...39 and a half foot pole!

Kind of a hot take, but I agree with Alan Moore that "The Killing Joke" is not a very good story (and arguably has done more harm to the character of the Joker than good - namely in cementing his "crazy serial killer" incarnation as the default personality and making him so "iconic" to the point of overuse)
-
I personally thought the story was fine (controversial story elements not withstanding), but I can understand your perspective. If anything 'Good', can be said for "The Killing Joke", is that it was the comic book that inspired Mark Hamill to audition for The Joker in the 1989 movie version of "Batman", and eventually get to play him, during "Batman: The Animated Series".

can I offer you a rum ham in this trying time?

something I realized: SBC hasn't had any significant superhero lit stuff since teenj

Nothing against Calvin and Hobbes, its one of the greatest newspaper strips of all time, but I get miffed that its the only comic that does constantly reprint every collection it has. I badly want to buy the older Pearls Before Swine collections but they never get reprinted, now I have to use crappy Amazon when I don't really like supporting them. Not even Peanuts get reprinted anymore. The shelf space in the humor section at Barnes and Noble and Books a Million are filled with Calvin and Hobbes and Garfield. Where's Get Fuzzy? Where's Heathcliff?

Honestly, I'd argue that Supreme: The Ivory Icon is...basically an apology for PR: MVF's second season, in the same way Moore's Supreme run was basically his apology for his '80s work, especially Watchmen.

I personally liked "Watchmen" as an interesting deconstruction of various superhero genre tropes...although I DO find it interesting that the only adaptation of "Watchmen" (besides the actual graphic novel) that Alan Moore DOES approve of, is the INTENTIONALLY badly made, late 1980's animated series version, which takes SEVERAL liberties with it's story source!
