    So yeah...that new Jenifer Lawrence/Darren Aronofsky movie, mother!  I...I got nothing.  This is the first time in a long time I've seriously left a movie speechless.  Like I have no idea if I admire it or if it pissed me off.  Because it seriously made me feel like both.  A lot.  Definitely the most interesting movie I've seen in quite some time.

    Moonlight is a great movie...but I'm never sitting through it again.  It was a chore to watch while still being a beautifully done piece of cinematic film making.  Glad that it won though because I like unpredictability.  It's entertaining.

      Because there was A LOT of talking and while I am not against talkative movies, it didn't always lead to anything.  Also that third act dragged and dragged and dragged. I still liked the movie a lot though.  I just didn't love it.

      I loved the third act tbh and how it further developed Chiron and Kevin's relationship. And I didn't mind all the talking because I liked getting to know the characters more. But agree to disagree you know :P

    So Pokémon Go finally released the Johto update.  Serious question.  Does anyone still play Pokémon Go?  No sarcasm.  I seriously want to know.  Because I know Pokémon Go plummeted at a near record rate in sales after the fad died off.

      I picked it up again with the Johto update. It's still pretty decent, honestly. I dropped off due to work and the updates and patches being generally terrible, but the servers seem to actually be working now because of the drop-off and they re-implemented the tracker (and it's much better than the original, in my opinion).

    Working on my worst movies list of 2016.  I think it's safe to say this about the overall state of cinema, but 2016 was a stagnant year where a majority of the huge sequels/remakes/reboots/adaptations felt stale.

    One month ago, I thought my worst films of 2016 list was set in stone.  This year couldn't possibly get any worse.  Then I saw Passengers, Assassin's Creed, and Collateral Beauty.  Good Christ do I need to do some rearranging.
