  1. Things that have happened since I last logged on here:

    -A worldwide pandemic

    -Social unrest

    -Looting

    -Murder hornets

-Looming threats of World War 3

And the year coming to a close is only halfway there...halfway there...halfway there...

Yeah the year's been pretty monotonous

...so snitching really got this guy off free and not spend the rest of his life behind bars?  Our legal system is broken.

I was actually discussing this with my stepdad - our prison and justice systems need major reform.

  3. Harry!  I’ve reached the top!

  4. Of all the animated movies Disney has in their library, I have never seen their Madagascar rip-off, "The Wild".  That changed tonight.  Wow.

as long as you don't say that every other animated film brought up is better than Fly Me to the Moon, I'll take it.

Steel Sponge, you've got a deal!

  5. It’s October.  Why am I getting recommendations for year end Top Ten lists in October?  The Todd ripoffs are just making these damn videos earlier and earlier.

Year-end countdown lists are basically the music reviewers' Christmas. Some people celebrate early because they just don't want to wait.

also, he did his best of review in SEPTEMBER. jfc, he really did this because he wanted to be first to do it, didn't he?

keep an eye out for my best and worst of 2020 lists coming February 2020

  6. With 2019 list season coming closer and closer, I'd like to state that it's been awhile since a song shrunk faster on me than "Please Me" did.  And it's been awhile since a song grew on me as fast as "Going Bad" did.

  7. Let’s take a minute and note that we live in a society where Logic actually made an alt-rock soundtrack for a novel he wrote and titled the first song on said soundtrack, “Bohemian Trapsody”.

maybe if a rapper calls themselves "logic" we just need to not take them seriously from the get go

      Can’t fight that logic.

  8. Got to say.  I’m deeply saddened with the lack of @Thanos in that Endgame trailer.  What gives?

I was too busy working on my field. Missed my cue from those damn Disney bureaucrats.

  9. Fortnite is having more of an impact on the music charts than the Super Bowl and the Grammys.  Fortnite.  What a strange timeline we are living in.

  10. The Weeknd’s new song is already a contender for best hit song of the year just for this line alone:

“And I just want a baby with the right one. ‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one.”

So much for him and Drake being tight.  Damn.

  11. Netflix ended this year on a strong note with Bird Box.  I think the movie could have been so much more than what we ended up with.  But Sandra Bullock without a doubt carried this movie with one of the best acting performances she’s ever given.

  12. Merry Christmas SBC!  My belated present onto you is my best hit songs list of 2018:

  13. First list of the season is up:

  14. Me: Clappy!  Work on your year end lists!

Also Me: Why do that when I could be unlocking all 74 characters of Smash Bros Ultimate for the next week?

I think you all know by now which option I’m going to do...oh sweet!  I unlocked Piranha Plant!

  15. The real "Worst Hit Song of 2018" is "broken" by lovelytheband.  Let's just get that out of the way now before I start working on the actual music lists for this year.  The most uninspired half assed piece of shit to crossover from the alt rock charts of the last ten years.  It's the best example of everything that I hate that a genre I adore so much has become.

  16. It pains me to say this because I love the Harry Potter franchise so much.  But the Fantastic Beasts franchise is already pissing me off after two, with many more movies to come.  The second one is at least ten times worse than the first and I had no idea what the hell was the point of anything more than half the run time.  Such a confusing disaster of a movie series.

It’s hard for me to ignore them because of JK Rowling’s involvement and I’ve been eating up anything Rowling does with the Harry Potter universe because of my dedicated fandom.  The Fantastic Beasts films have been testing my patience.

      E.V.I.L.

I have no familiarity with the HP series but from an outsider look JK Rowling is.... yikes

  17. I really wish I never looked this song up.

Why should I be told to go back to 1999 by two singers who weren’t even in elementary school when the 90s were over?  And here I thought Ready Player One would be the most shameless plugging of properties without any actual substance I’d see this year.

Also this song is a bop...if your name is Todd Phillips.

Just for the record, Charli was born in 92. That at least makes much more sense than Sivan's presence on the song.

also, this was released in the same timeframe by someone born before both artists, and it's even worse imo:

Okay so she was in maybe first grade?  She wants to go back to memories of learning how to write the alphabet?  Even if I was wrong about her age, it’s not much better than what I initially said anyway lol.

      Clappy

Alright so I just listened to that song you linked Steel and I completely disagree with you on it being worse.  It’s much better.  That song is at least a retrospective look at his life growing up, even if the chorus completely falls apart musically.  It’s at least realistic.

  18. Proudly did my civic duty and voted.  Hope those of you who are of age did too!

My vote, being in Mississippi, was pretty much useless, but hey, I cast it! 'Twas my first ever election too.

  19. Bow down to Clappy!  Prince of the Netherworld!

  20. A Star is Born is so freaking excellent that it feels super real.  Honestly haven't been this blown away by a movie in awhile.

I had a few issues with it but I still loved it so much I've already seen it twice.

  21. Just heard someone on television say that Cardi B and Offset are the newer, better Beyonce and Jay-Z.  Let's see if this absurd hot take lasts the test of time.  I give it less than a year, if even that.

Disenchantment looks pretty good. Never bothered with Netflix's original movies. It's pretty clear they're just throwing money at whatever they can and seeing what sticks.

  24. So now that I’ve watched every single episode of Family Guy in preparation for my next project, I’ve got to say.  Season 16 is by far the best season this series has had in a long long time.  Definitely the best in ten years at least.

Last ep i saw was Three Directors and that one was actualy great but I didn't keep up with it. What else episodes that were good?

    3. Clappy

      Clappy

Yeah I liked that one.  I also recommend: Emmy Winning Episode, The D in Apartment 23 (and to a lesser extent but still fine two episodes that directly follow that one for continuity sake), Dog Bites Bear, Family Guy Through The Years, and especially Switch the Flip.  That and Emmy Winning Episode are my two favorites from this season.  And there are ones that I didn’t recommend that still experimented with the formula quite a bit that I appreciated even if they weren’t the highlights of the season.

I saw emmy ep, which I didn't like much but I appreciated what it did.

Maybe I'll check rest of s16 out of curiosity.
