Happy summer, SBC! It's probably a hot one where you are, right? Let's help you cool down with some AMAZING news!!! Former enemy Sheldon J. Plankton claims he has turned over a new leaf. To help show good faith, he's helped the SBC staff develop and prepare for the launch of a brand new version! We promise he helped out of the kindness of his heart, and can confirm he's changed for the better. Introducing the next version of SBC: ———————— It's not just Plankton who's turned over a new leaf. V16 is your turning of a new leaf, SBC! From slick new skins and branding, to intriguing Discord features, to updates to beloved SBC activities and features, we've got a little bit of everything in this quaint update. Let's dive in! ———————— New Skins V16 Plankton Our default skin helps Plankton steal the show (in a friendly way, of course!) Sticking with our return to the wordmark in Seahorse 15, we keep the sleekness going with a sophisticated header. Admire the additions of curves around UI elements which are slick AND glowing green! V16 Plankton Dark Does your heart love how V16 Plankton looks, but your eyes have a different opinion? Take a breather by switching to the dark version and see those glowing curves in a whole new light we like to call: less light! Computer W.I.F.E. To compliment her husband’s skins, @Aquatic Konquest worked hard to help Karen out with her own technological skin! To show their love, Karen hacked…err generously changed the skin’s banner to show Plankton! Our curves continue to shine bright alongside the computer-y colours across the skin. New Features Discord Updates This is a big one: we’re giving the Community feature another try on our Discord server! Some of the benefits the feature gives us include: More security for all uses! More functional announcement channels! Better onboarding that is more secure and safer for new and existing users. The ability for us to be on the Discovery page. More insights and moderation tools for us to help you live your best SBCcord life. As a result of our enabling of the Community feature, #rules-and-announcements has finally been split into two! It’s never been easier to learn the rules AND stay up-to-date. New Discord features, faster! Community isn’t the only thing, of course. Mess around with a new weather bot in the #weather-channel! And several Stickers have been freshened up with a higher quality! QueUp We have moved on from deepcut.fm (formerly known as turntable.fm). We were happy to use it early on, and we were really happy to see it come back, but it’s time for a change. In its wake rises a new music sharing platform for SBC Music: QueUp! It contains the following features: improved mobile support, the ability to add your own avatars, and a messaging system! Eagle-eyed users may recall when we used this under its former name of Dubtrack in 2018/2019. A party will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m. ET to celebrate V16! Recent Achievements Widget A brand new widget to showcase people’s achievement progress will be displayed on our front page. Work towards greatness! New Badge Speaking of Achievements, we’ve added a 15 Year Anniversary badge to anyone lucky enough to have that milestone! It will also give you 1,500 experience points. Credit to @Zaid for the design. The other anniversary badges have also received slightly updated designs. New Store Items In the Community Store, 1 new item has been added (or resurrected, rather): Cashier for a Week. Be sure to read them both over. Updates to SpongeCraft Frontiers We’ve got some great updates to SpongeCraft Frontiers. The server has upgraded its version from 1.14.4 allllllll the way to 1.18.2! New materials, new mechanics, and more, including: an extended y-axis (a deeper underground and taller mountains!), new biomes, new mobs, and security updates! For more information on what exactly you’ve been missing, head to the Minecraft Wiki, starting with 1.15, and browse away! Additionally: Dynmap is now enabled on SpongeCraft Frontiers, available here or on our forums homepage under “F.U.N.” on the header. Just like SpongeCraft Classic, view a beautiful live map of the server and see where people are! We've also updated our plugin that allows for images to be placed on the server. It's even better than the last one! Wiki Updates Last month, our wiki was updated to MediaWiki version 1.43.1. This includes: improved visual editor, better mobile support, shortened URLs (be sure to bookmark these if you have the old links saved), and other quality of life improvements. Achievement Rank Changes Several of our achievement ranks have altered their point requirements: Jolly Good Rookie now requires 50 points to reach. Apprentice now requires 100 points to reach. Explorer now requires 180 points to reach. Community Regular now requires 1,400 points to reach. Rising Star now requires 2,000 points to reach. Skin Changes V14 Jellyfish, V14 Jellyfish Dark, and Steppin on the Beach are now Loyal Customer exclusive skins. The Owl House Community is now a buyable skin (as established earlier). If you use King Neptune for a Day, you will be able to automatically access Neptune’s Castle as a bonus gift! Skin Farewells I willlll rememmmberr you………it’s time toooo clean outttt more skiinnsss...
