The Mod For A Day item in our Store has caused a lot of controversy over the years. Even after removing Staff Lounge access (and admittedly, even allowing users to see the Staff Lounge in the first place was a dumb idea on our part) back in 2012, it wasn't enough. Thanks to a glitch in 2014, the Staff Lounge became visible again for a few months. And no one reported it until the end of the year. Private information got leaked out thanks to it. It doesn't stop there either. Nope, a user's account got vandalized thanks to this item (and please don't ask who did it or whose account was vandalized, any posts regarding it will be removed). It has become clear that the forum isn't ready for an item of such magnitude. It is for these reasons that the staff have decided to pull this item from the store, as well as the lesser known Moderate Your Own Thread topic that was pinned in The Krabby Kronicle. While nobody bought from it, can we really trust anyone with any sort of mod powers anymore? Being allowed to be a moderator for a day is a privilege guys (one that I don't think any other forums offer), you just don't go around abusing it. It is honestly disappointing that a community like this would stoop so low. Now I don't mean to pin this on any one member, this is a lesson that the entire community can learn and build upon. There's no other alternative, the item sadly has to go. Now, as for the business side of things. For those of you who have the item in your doubloon inventory and never used it, can exchange it for a full refund. Of course, you can keep it if you want (using it won't work), but don't you want those hard earned doubloons back? Just post in this topic if you have the item and want a refund. And for those of you who have King Neptune For A Day, as of today you will no longer be able to request actual moderator powers. All in all, I truly hope that this community can improve in the future so that we may be able to regain this privilege again. That's totally what I am hoping for, too! Yeah, way back in 2012 we had a thread called Store Reform in the now defunct Glove World area. Basically it detailed that we were removing Staff Lounge access from the Become A Mod For A Day item. Unfortunately, when Glove World got removed, so did the thread.
